Am new to site .. had lumpectomy in April and starting 4 weeks of radiotherapy on 10th August . I wondered if anyone has advice on comfy bras to wear when skin gets sore .. oncologist implied that as I have largish ‘ dangly’ boobs , sensitive skin and lump on underside of boob it was likely I’d get skin reaction underneath boobs.
can anyone recommend something I could wear to support boobs and help stop rubbing when bouncing but that won’t itself rub under there? Im at a loss!

Tesco XL pull on sport bra comfy after surgery .. I’m plump and 38 G

Thanks for all the suggestions! I have really sensitive skin and can’t use E45 but seen that aveeno is a good substitute? Will try and get the aloe Vera gel. Using pads and liners a great idea as I’d probably react to dressings ! I have some Tenna! Wonder if those would work !  Joy

Debenhams has gone online ? I’ll have a look at the bras you mentioned.
great that you are Neddy! Long may that continue !

  • Hi  it was R1 and R2 as available at the time but I'm sure a good moisturiser will be just as good. Don't worry you will be okay, its not too bad Wink

  • Hi

I wore a non-wired bra after my lumpectomy but found it uncomfortable. Bought M&S seamless crop tops which are very comfortable and don’t rub, I haven’t worn a normal bra for weeks. The tops come in a pack of three for £18, sizes S-2XL and various colours.

    Thankyou for replying x I’ll have a look on M& S site x x x

  • If you hit a dead end and are close to Swansea I have two you can try I think!! I'm sure I saw them in a dark part of a cupboard when clearing stuff out.

    Hi

I  had radiotherapy 9 yrs ago, and again earlier this year.  The first time, I wore normal bra but I did get a bit sore under the boob.  I used panty liners to help pad the tighter bit underneath (although, normally, bra comfortable)

However, this year I decided to try crop tops and I found them SO comfortable and I didn't get sore at all.  I appreciate the 'zapping' was likely to be slightly different angle so maybe I wouldn't have got sore anyway but I really did feel they helped, to be honest.

I got mine from Matalan, but supermarkets and lingerie shops, plus M&S, will have them.  I found different shops had different fittings and, for me, the Matalan ones suited me best.

Having said that, I only have reasonably small 'ish boobs so yourself, being bigger cup size, would not necessarily feel more comfortable

Certain panty liners helped a lot  Slight smile

Wishing you well for the rest of your treatment
