Morning everyone
I hope you are all keeping safe and well
This week I started on Paclitaxel and I was hoping to escape some side effects as EC battered me a bit
since yesterday I have suffered really bad joint and body aches and pains
Has anyone experienced the same or can someone tell me if this is a normal reaction. Sleep is difficult and the only thing I can think to take is paracetamol
Happy Saturday and wishing everyone well
Wendy
MorningRed robin101....Unfortunately the achy bones are very common with taxotere. Try taking a paracetamol or cocodamol. It may help. The pains often start a few days after the treatment dose. Just keep an eye on another effect....burning sensations in hands and feet or skin peeling. If you get this, mention it to your BCN or another doctor as it can cause lasting problems if it is left to get severe. I made the error of thinking that these were just side effects I had to put up with. Like you I had been very unwell during the EC but ofcourse those effects soon stop when the drug is finished so I never mentioned the taxotere difficulties until it was obvious I had problems. My mistake.....most people don't have this reaction so don't worry .....just be aware.
If the weather is nice today, try a walk. It can help the achiness.
Take care. You are two thirds through the treatment now. It does end and hopefully will have served it's purpose.
Love Karen
Thank you so much for replying, knowing these aches and pains are normal reassures me
take care x
