Hi

i started my chemotherapy in March for breast cancer and have now has 3 treatments. I try hard and manage to eat reasonably well but still lose weight, as I just haven’t got my usual appetite. Just reaching out to see if anyone else has had similar experiences?

    • Eating is a nightmare. No appetite, no sense of taste and texture all over the place. I was told forget the low fat foods. For me it was tomato soup and cheese and crackers that were a life saver. Eat what you fancy, when you fancy it. The important thing is to stay well and maintain energy levels . Little and often is the key.

Yes, I was exactly the same, I had no taste and the texture of food was dry and horrible.

I resorted to mushroom soup and orange juice was the only thing I could taste. I made sure I ate little bits often. I lost about 1/2 a stone each treatment cycle.

It really makes you appreciate taste when it comes back!
