Good evening all you lovely people. I am having a moment tonight. Had my biopsy done last Thursday and I have suddenly become aware of swelling. It seems really bruised and also a little more painful tonight. Is it normal for this to happen a few days after the biopsy? It could well be that my mind is exagerrating this as I am in overdrive at the moment! Just wanted to get a few views. Thank you all!

  • Hey! My biopsy was really painful and I had extensive bruising and swelling! I went to see the nurse days later and, apparently, normal! Well it didn’t feel particularly normal for me! It did last aJoyile I’m afraid! Try not to overthink! I worried too....but now, in hindsight, I’m not sure what I was worried about! Just everything seemed to be going wrong so you worry about stuff that really isnJoy anything to worry about! Hope that makes some sort of sense! Joy

I think you have said it so well. I am a worrier by nature so I tend to catastrophe things in my mind. Thank you for the heads up. I suppose we forget that the body takes quite a beating and it doesGrinningt just bounce back. Thank you so much. I will try to calm myself now. Time for a cup of tea, I thinkGrinning

  • I’m a worrier too! Overthink everything....exhausting! Doctor gave me some anti anxiety drugs and, I have to say, they have worked wonders! I still take them now 3 years on....they help me cope...

I am also on those. Have been for years and year and don't think I could cope without them

Hi there. Hope you don't mind me responding to this. I have been on Citalopram for years. It is a low dosage and works wonders!

  • Thanks Capazi. I'll take a look. X

  • I take sertraline and propranolol. I would say I have always been an emotional and anxious person. Sometimes I feel they ‘flatten’ my feelings. The lows aren’t so low but, sometimes I feel that the good, happy, joyous times don’t feel quite right. I hope that makes sense....but I genuinely don’t think I could have coped as well without medical support...they help me ‘keep it together’ and the overwhelming feelings are definitely lessened. One thing I learnt from this site was to build a good relationship with your doctor....I just went in a lost it! Cried, overwhelmed, didn’t know what to do....my doctor was great and saw me weekly at the beginning of this roller coaster ride....I cried every time!
