Post mastectomy drains

Hi  I hade my mastectomy in October  4 weeks after  drain it will get  better  soon xxx

I had one of my two drains removed after about a week but the second (a deep one) stayed till 15 days. I had immediate reconstruction after my mx with an implant but bled and it had to be repeated 30 hours later. 
it’s annoying to have to cope with a drain but your team will know when it’s best removed. I hope the pain and discomfort eases for you soon

Thanks Moomy. I opted not to have reconstruction to avoid complications. I think I was just expecting the drain to be empty earlier. The info I was given on the ward was poor...just a badly photocopied sheet! 

Oh that’s sad, hope you improve very soon. Don’t forget to rest enough but do those shoulder exercises!
