Hi
I have developed lymphedema in my arm after a mastectomy and lymph clearance last April. I now have a prescription for compression sleeves but the pharmacy I use is struggling getting them for me.
has anyone any experience where I can use my prescription to get the sleeves sooner?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks
Jeannie
Hello Jeannie, I feel for you as I developed lymphedema 5 years after my mastectomy and lymph node clearance. Thankfully after 9 months of using a compression garment, doing the exercises and self massage it disappeared.
Does the prescription request a specific manufacturer? You could try using a larger pharmacy like Lloyds or Boots.
Unfortunately, right at the start of Covid last year my lymphoedema returned along with many other problems. I struggled for almost a year to get help. Please make sure you get all the help you need as it can become very debilitating.
Im happy to offer tips and support if it will help you.
Wishing you well, keep moving
