Hello everyone,
I am 2 weeks on from having a lumpectomy with lymph nodes removal. I am struggling with the exercises given to me to do that involve stretching my arm out above my head. I get a strong pulling all the way down my arm. Has anyone else experienced this and can offer any help. Does it go away after time, as I am hoping to get back to work at some point,
Stay safe x
Hi Sca28 welcome to the forum and so glad that at least the surgery is past for you.
There is such a thing after this type of surgery called Cording this sounds like it could be the case for you with that pulling sensation you describe. I have inserted a link below to some information that Macmillan has on cording for you to read through. It will go away but it may take time and may need treatment from a physiotherapist.
.Macmillan information re cording
See what you think and maybe a call to he Breast Nurse might be an idea and see what they say as they may be able to make a referral for you direct to the physio.
Dont stop the exercises but dont overstretch either do what you can within your own limits until someone can have a look for you.
Best Wishes for now.x
Thank you so much for the information, I'm going to have a look straight away xx
