Hi
welcome to the site sorry to hear you're suffering . I used bonjela for mouth ulcers ,Vaseline on dry lips .
Also I developed Oral thrush ( never had it before or since finishing chemo ) which caused a very sore mouth . I was prescribed a mix from chemo unit to use each cycle when it started .
Might be worth a check from one of your chemo team .
hope this helps
Hi Sandra elaine
I got really bad mouth and throat about 3 days after each chemo session EC and docetaxol. It was horrid, furry oral thrush, redness and severe pain when swallowing. I just had to ride it out, never found anything that really helped to be honest but it always resolved after about 5 days.

Hi
I got oral thrush after my first docetaxel and it was painful to open my mouth fully, so sore. You could have this too? Sometimes you get mouth ulcers-I’ve had these on the front and sides of my tongue. I was prescribed a mouth wash for the oral thrush which worked a dream. For the mouth ulcers I dilute a half teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate in 250ml of water and use as a mouthwash 4 times a day until it goes away. It works well for me.
You should maybe call your BC nurse or the cancer phone line for precise advice. Please don’t suffer, there’s always something that will help.
Take care xxx

Hi there, sorry to hear you are struggling. After my third round of EC I had a really sore mouth and throat. I thought maybe it was thrush but it got worse and then white spots appeared. The spots turned out to be a mouth and throat infection rather than thrush, due to the chemo. I was given antibiotics which sorted it out. I also tried all sorts of gels to relieve the pain in the meantime. The best one for me was Oralieve, which was recommended by a consultant during one of my urgent trips to hospital. I hope you get it sorted. x
