BRCA gene

I don't have the experience you're looking for but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. By replying to you it will 'bump' your post back to the top of the discussions list.

While you're waiting to see if you get any replies if you type 'BRCA2' into the group search bar you'll find lots of previous posts which mention this. You could have a look through some of them and reply to any of the more recent ones if you want to ask the poster any questions.

Another thought is that you could also post this question in the BRCA positive group if you wanted to.

Hi, yes I had the shock result I was BRCA2 positive last december at the age of 36 after a diagnosis in October and mastectomy with reconstruction in November. I'm now halfway through chemo as it was detected in my lymph nodes.

I have no known family history, I'm the first to have it so my sister is awaiting her blood test results and my parents have been tested too to see which side of the family is affected.

Massive shock as I did the test to tick that box really and was encouraged to by the nurses due to my age. I didn't think for a second it would be positive. 

The doctors have told me to try and not focus on that too much at the moment until I'm further into my treatment but at times it's all I think about, especially as I have a 2 year old son.x
