Hello lovely people, and Welcome to the October Chemotherapy Chat! I cant believe how these months are rolling round, I hope October is as easy a month as possible for you all.
This thread is for all of you soldiers, going through chemotherapy to take a look at, ask questions, answer questions and be there for one another in a way only you guys know how.
If you want to find this post quickly, you can hit the 'Save In My Favourites' button.
For all of those of you going through chemotherapy, you are superstars. You are amazing, and you are fighting each and every day, you are my heroes. If you need any extra tips, our Chemo Tips Page is something you may find very helpful, and something that you may find you would like to share with others who are also going through chemo. One top tip, ask about parking at the hospital you are being treated at; for some Cancer patients parking is either free or discounted (big discount!) So it's worth asking about.
To get a sense of how the thread works, here is a link to Septembers chat which will be being locked from replies soon, but have a read anyway if you'd like to.
Remember, you're never alone, you have us! And, just try to focus on what your chemotherapy is doing. Its hopefully kicking your cancers butt.
I hope you are coping with me doing these! And I hope all of you are doing as well as you can do while going through this tough part of your journies.
Happy October Everyone,
Lots of love, hugs, light and healing to each and every one of you.
Alex xxx
Good luck Bramble22 and Claire1974 with your treatments today.
I will probably be just behind you as mine has been out back another week as I still haven't healed properly from the operation.
Hope all those who have just had their treatment are coping better with the side affects.
Take care xxx
Thanks everyone for the good luck messages!
Well that’s number one under my belt! All went well but starting to feel a bit tired although I think that’s because I didn’t sleep much last night!
It is true...it’s not as bad as you imagine! Fingers crossed that the side effect aren’t too bad! x
Well done Bramble22
First one done ..over the start line and on the road to recovery . Glad it wasn't as bad as your imagination told you .
Hopefully SEs won't be either but whatever you get it's just a sign chemo workng and kicking cancers butt !
Remember to drink loads to flush system and rehydrate . Fill your fridge with tasty snacks ..jelly ,pots of rice ,pieces of chilled fruit . So if nausea there you can nibble .
Listen to your body and rest when it tells you . I do a diary so I have a record of SE . You can sometimes see pattern so you know what to expect but also know what to report to your Onco .
Take care

Thankyou so much everyone for your messages today!! I too am home and like you @Bramble22 it went in fine So relieved for both of us, been thinking about you x! Cold cap was ok so fingers crossed it works, but if not had a wig appointment afterwards, quite fancy looking like I just stepped out of the salon everyday with no effort!
Trying to calm down now on the sofa, I think the steroids are having an effect and feel like I could talk the hind legs off a donkey at the mo got my goody bag of potions! So good luck for the coming days and to those just about to start . The hospital experience was actually very chilled xxxx
Hi Claire1974
Glad your over the start line along with Bramble . Also it not as bad as you thought hopefully you'll feel so much better now ,with or without SEs ,that you are on the road to recovery .
Make sure you rest even if steroids tell you to clean kitchen from top to bottom ..just give them some carbs to shut them up .

Glad to hear you guys are ok. As someone just waiting for the call to go in for my first, it really helps to hear it was ok. Hope the next few days are ok too.
