Hello lovely people, and Welcome to the October Chemotherapy Chat! I cant believe how these months are rolling round, I hope October is as easy a month as possible for you all.
This thread is for all of you soldiers, going through chemotherapy to take a look at, ask questions, answer questions and be there for one another in a way only you guys know how.
If you want to find this post quickly, you can hit the 'Save In My Favourites' button.
For all of those of you going through chemotherapy, you are superstars. You are amazing, and you are fighting each and every day, you are my heroes. If you need any extra tips, our Chemo Tips Page is something you may find very helpful, and something that you may find you would like to share with others who are also going through chemo. One top tip, ask about parking at the hospital you are being treated at; for some Cancer patients parking is either free or discounted (big discount!) So it's worth asking about.
To get a sense of how the thread works, here is a link to Septembers chat which will be being locked from replies soon, but have a read anyway if you'd like to.
Remember, you're never alone, you have us! And, just try to focus on what your chemotherapy is doing. Its hopefully kicking your cancers butt.
I hope you are coping with me doing these! And I hope all of you are doing as well as you can do while going through this tough part of your journies.
Happy October Everyone,
Lots of love, hugs, light and healing to each and every one of you.

Good morning all you lovely September Chemotherapy ladies! Welcome to October, and may we not resemble characters at a Halloween party by the end of it! ⛼
Here we are in October and powering through this chemo lark. Well sort of anyway ! Welcome back to all the August /September girls and all the newbies that will join this month. It is a wonderfully supportive thread where we can share ideas and help each other. I am on day 6 of second EC and was feeling ok at the weekend but feel shattered this morning as probably did too much. So an easy day for me today !
Best wishes to everyone -keep strong.
As for Halloween think I will look for an outlandish wig for the occasion. Every day I certainly need to wear mine now.
Love Jojodot X

Morning all,
Hi to everyone from the August/September chemo threads - I can’t believe that this is the third month that many of us have been here, so it shows that we are getting through our treatments! Welcome also to any newbies joining us in October for the chemo rollercoaster. Let’s hope that October will be a good month for us all. Whatever it brings, we will help each other through - each day is one more towards the end of our treatments and to getting better.
I am on Day 14 post-Docetaxel/Herceptin/Perjeta, and today so far I am feeling fine - all bone pain has gone, and the unpredictable digestive side effects of the past few days seem to have subsided too (fingers crossed). I also seem to have quite a bit of energy (more so than when I was on EC). Even my tastebuds and sense of smell appear to be wired up correctly today, and I have just made myself the rare treat of a bacon sandwich, which a couple of days ago would have seemed repulsive. I am hoping to have a few days of near normality now, as I have planned a couple of trips out with friends, plus I have to take my cats to the vets for their annual check-up/boosters on Friday, and then go to the GP for a flu jab myself on Saturday. I also have my Look Good, Feel Better course on Monday, which I am really looking forward to (eyebrows are now disappearing at an alarming rate, so I really need the advice about pencilling them in so that I don’t look like something fit for Halloween). Then of course it will be nose back to the chemo grindstone on Tuesday, when I’m back at the hospital for bloods before treatment number 4 on Wednesday. However, after that - if all goes to plan - there will be only two more treatments to go.
I hope that everyone has a good day today. Here in the centre of York the rivers have burst their banks (as usual at this time of year) and we have lots of flooding, but I am going to put my wellies on and venture out!

HiBlackcat20,
I felt worse on Docetaxel than EC, only days 5 to about 8/9, just weak with joint pains etc. Nothing on EC apart from a bit of constipation and hair loss. I was very lucky.
Look good, feel better is fab, enjoy it. Lots of free goodies, mine added up to over £150, just came at the right time, I needed a treat.
Good Luck to everyone on Chemo this month, you got this x x
Glad you're feeling better @Blackcat . Hopefully you'll have a good week before the next one. We're all getting there! Enjoy ther session next Monday - perfect timing flught the advice:) They usually have a swap box if you find the pencils don't suit you as well. Xxx
