Hi! I was diagnosed with invasive lobular BC last month and had therapeutic mammoplasty surgery two weeks ago today. I have another week and a half before I get the pathology report, bit like sitting on a time bomb waiting for the results! I was wondering if anyone else out there has had the same type of cancer and surgery as when I went for my dressings changed the nurse said she doesn’t she many surgeries like this (I had the anchor type surgery, or the Captain Pugwash as I like to call it). Thanks.
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community
I'm not a member of this group but I noticed that your post hadn't had any responses. This could be because no one else has had the same type of cancer and surgery as you but more likely because your post hasn't been seen. By replying to you it will bump your post back to the top of the page where it will hopefully be seen by someone who has the same type as you.
I'm also tagging this group's Community Champions GRANNY59 and into my reply as they may be able to point you in the direction of others members who can help.

Thank you ever so much, that’s really kind of you xxx
Hiya,
I had lobular bc nearly three years ago. From what I understand it is quite a slow growing cancer, thank God. Surgery is to remove it all, do you know yet whether they had clear margins or is that what you are waiting for? I can't comment on your type of surgery, I had a nipple sparing mx with an implant. Do you know yet if you have to have chemo or radio?
Sending you cwtches,
Gay xxx
Hi Gay!
Thanks for coming back to me. I’m waiting for the pathology report to come back, they have a delay of up to 4 weeks here so have another 8 days to wait.
I had the dressings taken off on Friday and my boob is a bit of a patchwork but very neat (my scar is like the shape of an anchor, round the nipple to reposition it, down to the bottom of the breast and round the bottom from side to side) The scar for the lymph nodes is bigger than I thought it would be and has been ever so stingy in this hot weather!
So long as the margins are clear I should only need radiotherapy. I’m feeling positive as they caught it early from a routine mammogram.
Good to hear from someone 3 years on! Hope you’re doing ok?

Hello I felt happy to hear from someone daignosed 3 years ago. Wish you to have many more years of good health. I too been daignosed with lobular this March. It’s spread to my bones. So no surgery. Had chemo scan showed good progress. Now on tamoxifen and zomata . Feeling fine . What treatment are you on ? If you don’t mind me asking
So sorry to hear you’re going through the mill with all this, keep strong! I was on tamoxifen but it gave me gynae problems and I had to have a polyp removed so was taken off it and put on letrozol and alendronic acid. They give me bad joint pain and headaches but if they do the job then it’s worth it! Good luck with your treatment.
