It seems I'm a patient now!

But not a very patient one!

I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?

Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that,  plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.

By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.

But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

  • Unfortunately OH had symptoms he thought were caused by pollen too but like you tested just in case and his was positive.  That was Tuesday and he's been really unwell since. Like with flu, type 1 diabetics struggle to keep their blood sugars low so he has had to stay in bed. Luckily I can keep mum seperate with a different bathroom etc and so far.....we are ok. I can't remember how long we should keep apart. I am not looking after OH as well as I normally might have because I have to come in contact with mum so much.

  •   sorry sent early . He looks very comfortable .on your lap . Dexter was at vets yesterday for kennel cough jab ,prior to one night in kennels while we at a wedding in June . It took me plus nurse to hold him down so vet could administer nasal drops . He was so stressed he needed to sleep in this morning …..

This was him at 8.15 am in his favourite sleeping position Joy

  • Awww, bless him! Henry has been very good, a short whine then some playing, we’ve just had lunch and he’s curled up in the sofa beside me now.

In the end I decided to watch the coronation service, for the music and the pageantry. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to but of course it’s the second coronation in my lifetime.

  • Same for me  i like all the pomp and pageantry I like having a royal family but Queen Camilla doesn’t sit right with me I would have preferred Queen consort .
I did  think all the music was beautiful

  • And didn’t Camilla fiddle with her crown?!

Just been out for a shortish wet walk. Reminded me that it was a very similar wet day 70 years ago, when the Queen was crowned.
