It seems I'm a patient now!

But not a very patient one!

I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?

Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that,  plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.

By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.

But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

  • We’ve decided tonight will be fine as we have all been incredibly careful plus son had a negative test before Christmas and they haven’t mixed since

  • And it was so bitter sweet, such thoughtful presents from them all, including the Virtual Choir (Eric Whitacre) compilation that our two decided to help fund and got a signed certificate for as a result, together with the book which includes each and every persons name who sang in the choirs, plus the disc of course. All compiled and re-mastered at Abbey Road studios! I was so moved by it all that I couldn’t sleep for ages and also had a bit of a cry; close to it just typing this too.

We need to stay well, we need to fight on alone so that we can get vaccinated and be together and hug each other again!

  • Great news about the vaccine approval announced this morning!

I woke very early, aware that we hadn’t put out rubbish last night, so did so by around 7am! Couldn’t warm up again so got going instead.....

    A very frosty morning.....

  • Yes , the vaccine news is great and we just need the call to go for it now. It would seem from what I've read that there is going to be a longer time between the 2 doses as it give better response. No frost here in South wales but looks very cold!

  • Urban foxes; are they getting braver or are they just super-hungry, or are their dens flooded out?
saw these two shoot by this morning and went to see (I didn’t think they were one of the neighbourhood cats)

  • For some reason the photo wouldn’t post.....

  • I suspect the pixel-rate of my new phone’s camera is maybe the culprit, have emailed admin to ask what ‘size’ it needs to be. The camera on the iPhone 12 mini seems pretty good, and even though I took a screenshot of a tiny bit of the photo it just wouldn’t upload.

  • Stay warm ladies as it's going to be even colder tonight and tomorrow.

Yes, good news about the vaccine.

I remain in Tier 3 ... so far.
