But not a very patient one!
I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?
Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that, plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.
By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.
But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

Thank you, it was great in spite of the weather, soooooo hot and humid! Then a storm just after we’d got all sorted this morning!

Himoomy,
Glad you had a good time despite the weather! We called our trip off because of all the forecast thunderstorms-a metal canal boat and many mooring spots with trees didn't sit well with thunderstorms (or perhaps we are just wimps !! )
Sending cool hugs for everyone
You did right Kwissy we have come home ...even the dog wouldn't go for walk it was unbearable .
Was in bed from 4 til 6 yesterday then OH had done Pizza ( well at least he was trying lol ) which I ate sat on deck insundress while it thundered and sprinkled rain around me . Van was 22 degs when we got up this morning so I bragged dog for walk then packed .
Arrived home dog grabbed ball and ran in garden to play he was as happy as we were to cool down . We had all his curls cut off yesterday by his breeder/ groomer . To cool him off .
might have to do the same to my chemo curls

Nice to see you back moomy and NorthernerHowever short it was for....Maybe getting away is needed.A change is as good as a rest.Yes it is sooo hot.Have the fan on in my little flat but have to keep changing.I find cotton fabric is the coolest.xx
We worked hard on the van once home, we had driven through some flash floods and obviously collected some grit, so the step at the side door grinded rather a lot, needed hosing down. Hubs did that while I pottered around, swapping things in cupboards (we decided to swap round the sleeping arrangement) and then got his wheelchair out and gave that a good wipe down too (the pitch was hard standing so everything got rather dusty) and then I cleaned work surfaces, bathroom and vacuumed through.
Think we are ready to go off again, haha, as waste is empty and water tank full!

And the real reason we had to come home? Hubs’ pacemaker check!
all was good, apparently it’s ok for MRI scans as it’s only a couple of years old! And she did a re-boot which will add just over a year to the battery life. He’s had a few episodes according to the trace, but only needed the pacemaker 8.1 % of the time in the last year. He used to be super-fit (rugby, water polo) which she says is helping him now. She advised keeping a record of any time he feels faint/odd/funny, they often find that will tie in with episodes the pacemaker records. It’s such a clever device!
next appointment in a years time!
