But not a very patient one!
I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?
Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that, plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.
By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.
But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

Hi moomy and,
Just to let you know that as I am over 70 (73) I requested my last mammo and thank goodness I did or I would never have known that I had another cancer! My previous surgeon advocated this strongly. As I understand it anyone over 70 can request a mammo at your local breast test centre( in my case breast test wales.)But they do not automatically call you,you have to make a note of the date and rerequest about 2 months before. My local centre told me when to put the request in. I would urge anyone to continue with these if at all possible- they can be lifesaving.I know they bring up all the worries again but I also know it was worth it -treatment started and completed now apart from Letrozole and annual mammo for 5 years.(Fingers crossed!! ) Sending hugs to everyone xx
Hi kwissy you are so right we have to look out for ourself and be vigilant with anything diff hope treatment is kind to you just think so many changes jus now my lymfidema clinic cancelled my last appt but if urgent you can call but you don't want to bother them appts made you go well it's actually sunny here in Glasgow take care everyone x
Yes I agree, Kwissy you’re right and I will do so. I found my lump myself but have been breast vigilant since this all took off!
Done all my jobs, watering the garden, boiling up chicken carcass for stock, picking tomatoes and runner beans and generally tidying up. Now put out garden shade umbrellas and sat in the shade!

Just listened to F1 qualifying this week comes from Silverstone again (about 14 miles from here) as we both always enjoy it. Hubs used to bunk off from school cycle up there and crawl through a gap under the grandstand to watch, he was a track Marshall for a year but spent more time first aiding there. My Dad introduced me to it as he always listened on the radio, always wanted Stirling Moss to get world championship (think he was the most famous driver never to have achieved that!) and so I’ve followed quite a lot over the years.
it’s a bit more breezy here today so less oppressive but my watch still reads 26 degrees!

I’ve managed to keep the house a bit cooler today, and when it got cooler out than in, I opened lots of windows to help. Hope it will be easier to sleep as a result!
We ate dinner outside, it was lovely. Oddly it was the first time this year. We usually eat out in the garden quite a lot, just hadn’t got round to doing so this year, not sure why.
All washed up and ready for a relaxing evening.......we’ve been chatting about what we need to do and get ready for Tuesday to Thursday’s trip away! And also for our anniversary trip at the end of the month too.

Thank goodness it’s Sunday, I’m going to be catching a couple of cat naps I think moomy to make up for a restless night. Just got a quick wash on which will dry really quick as sun is now coming out and nothing that needs ironing. You are just so organised, have a great day, huge hugs all xx
