It seems I'm a patient now!

But not a very patient one!

I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?

Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that,  plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.

By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.

But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

  • Anyone in Bexhill or environs who finds a voice, please post it to me pronto! Yup, it got croaky yesterday and I’ve decided not to speak today, hoping it will get better!

otherwise apart from a snotty nose I’m not so bad! Taking an extra inhaler each day to try to prevent chest problems, always dodgy with my asthma.....

  • Hi

Take care and rest up .

part of the reason I'm still feeling off I'm sure is because I wasn't fully over the cold when I had last treatment . Neuts  were high nurse said that would be because still fighting cold . Then crash after steroids .

Also Im stubborn so didn't give in when I should and had birthday celebrations as planned so had lunch out with family then visitors for two days ..hence over tired .

on day 9 so should pick up in a couple of days then will go to Cumbria away from everybody lol

    take care

  • Yum! After a good few days with this cold I can now taste again. Made a casserole with dumplings all in the slow cooker and it was delicious!

  • Hi Northener,

    sounds great!

we have an olive tree which of course is only frost hardy to -5, so the trunk gets wrapped in layers of horticultural fleece in the winter. When we first had it I wrapped he whole tree, but we had dug it into a big hole in the garden so now as it’s grown I can’t reach, so it’s just the trunk. One winter I forgot till late and it struggled but survived. One night we had at least -7 or -8, thankfully I stopped hubs cutting it back for the lovely olive wood.

hope your garden does well with the new additions, making them feline free is a bind, though!

    Ooh Moomy

I hope those are frozen blackberries. The blackberries on the Bush in October belong to the devil. At least that's what is said round here!

So watch out for your horns growing.
