It seems I'm a patient now!

But not a very patient one!

I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?

Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that,  plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.

By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.

But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

  • Ladies... just been trying to catch up but I’ve not been on here for ages. ..... pleased you were reassured at recent surgeon clinic appt but was it your allergy appointment that went a bit Pete tong !? Sounds like your yoga is doing the trick. After I’ve been I certainly know I’ve overstretched....for weeks afterwards. Know what you mean about vv aches. I was determined to be motivated and get mine seen last year but BC got in first. ..... still swimming I see which is great. I’ve still not got myself some swimming gear but know swimming would do my stiff, overstretched muscles good so I must do something about it and use you as my motivator. Loved reading about your choir experiences. .... have you been to the garden party? How’s your graft? Have you started rads yet?

..... what artistic project are you doing? How’s your aches and pains? I can empathise as I often seize up after sitting for a while. .... how are you doing?

Ive been dipping in and out but never got round to posting ... apologies.Im doing ok apart from the usual aches and pains. I got really lazy re bc exercises so that didn’t help. Pleased the weather picked up..it makes all the difference when the suns out. I need to get out and do some gardening this week plus got fences to paint too. I’m trying to reduce my weight. I lost weight last year but after the cracked rib December I put 2 thirds back on so trying to be good. I gave up biscuits...not bought a packet since Ash Wednesday and that’s helped.

    Hugs to all xxx

  • Great to hear from you Flossie! You’ve read back, it’s obvious!

I find yoga really does help me sleep so much better too! Had a lovely long sleep last night.veins not as painful, I have support socks from a few years back when it bugged me last, maybe this time I will think of getting it seen?

The weather certainly helps us get more active, doesn’t it? Good luck with painting that fence, it takes ages to do it well!

Hi ...how are you? When I went to see my GP with my “list”,I did mention my aches n stiffness. She said stretching exercises are good for stiffness, like yoga and pilates.

have joined a new Church which I can get to,walking, and so am doing much more walking now. There are so many groups to join I am spoiled for choice!! They also do National Trust hols so am really excited!!

Last Sun they had a wecome lunch for newbies- I set myself up as “ Label Giver- Outer” as I hate standing round like a lemon....and met some lovely friendly people!!

miss my Sunday School children though.

here is a new lamp I have customised around the base...

my latest project is a little French Dancing Doll who is taking me ages...but I made her head the other day...neck needs adjustment. The wig is off another doll...but goes well with her face I think.I deliberately gave hera delicate face in colour pencil.

sorry am going on a bit now!! Sorry to hijack your thread

  • I’ve yet to get the paint brush out

.... you’re so busy and talented. The wig definitely goes well with the dolls face. Your new church sounds really good and friendly.

  • I have asked for LP for Friday on the AWAKE thread.  I have found a funny looking skin lesion right next to my mastectomy scar. It seems to be enlarging. It looks similar to a thing I had on my leg during chemo 18/12 ago. It looked like Bowen's disease, but biopsy showed a mixture of eczema and psoriasis! I hope this is the case again, but of course all the anxiety revs up again, as it does. Fortunately I don't have to wait, and I have appt Fridayat 12noon. , Tai Chi tomorrow night will, take my mind off it xxxxx
