  • Hi Eden

I'm Daisy53 one of the Community Champions on this forum.  I'm sorry to hear that you are in such pain with your back.  I suggest that your contact your breast care nurse if you haven't already and explain your symptoms to them.  In the meantime why don't you fill a hot water bottle if you have one with hot water and put it against your back you may find that it help even if only a little bit.

    Hope you feel better soon.

    Best wishes

  •  Thank you. I spoke with the critical assessment team today. It’s apparently the filgrastim injection that’s the cause. X

  • Hi. Yes I was told by the chemo nurse that these injections can cause body aches, I’m feeling the same Weary

  • I’ve been informed that Clarytin (an antihistamine, generic name is loratidine) can really help with the bone pain from filgrastim injections but should ideally be taken before they start. That was way back when I was advising for Lymphoma patients, whose primary chemo is a real bone marrow-buster! I gathered they often prescribe it together with the jab in the States.

Hope you can find something to help. Might be worth trying the antihistamine?

  • I had the injections for 7 days - but luckily only had the back pain once - hopefully the same for you ! x

  • I had exactly the same pain from the injections but luckily I only had it after my first cycle. Someone told me to take an antihistamine which I tried on my second cycle however my cancer nurse told me they wouldn't have made any difference. May be worth a try, won't do any harm I don't think.

All the very best with your treatment and your recovery x
