It seems I'm a patient now!

But not a very patient one!

I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?

Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that,  plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.

By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.

But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

  • Sick again just after our morning walk, what’s going on? Is it the start of getting back into Abemaciclib again? Perhaps I need to take cyclizine with it?

    Cuss!

edit; both times I’ve had some visual disturbance too, which is like a migraine ‘fizzy light’ effect which starts centrally then gradually migrates in a circular form out to the outer edges of my vision and then goes. Very odd. Deep breathing helped when I had it as a result of cluster headaches.

  • I’m also feeling very tired too which I suspect is also the Abemaciclib. Just no energy….

Edit; yes I just looked up side effects and fatigue is there! I’ve just lost my mojo a bit and have to force myself to do stuff. I sort of wondered why the last week, I’d had more energy in spite of being unwell with the remains of the chesty cough….now I realise why!

  • Today I was awaiting a supermarket order so this morning was a bit different; I took an antisickness with morning painkillers, then had half a slice of bread while I did Henry-dogs breakfast. Got some laundry going. Then we waited. I didn’t have my usual coffee, took in the delivery and then took Henry out after that.

Back for a very late proper breakfast and morning coffee.

I feel tired but the nausea got kicked, hopefully. Yes, Cyclizine has a sedative effect….

  • The rest of the day has been ok, I did have a nap late afternoon/evening, and I think I’m getting back to the new normal?

I popped into the town in the afternoon to see the little museum, 3 small rooms with historical artefacts in. They had a version of the local railway as models, made into a sort of circular display, it had attracted quite a few people. it’s only open on the occasional Sunday.

I timed it all surprisingly well to catch a bus most of the way home.

  • Good your strategy worked   and I hope it continues to do so. I haven’t been out today. Decided to bake this afternoon. Back really ached through position and standing in one spot. Tomorrow I need to be more active.

  • Baking can be very tough on the back if you do a lot  so take it easy! Bet the kitchen smells wonderful after all that though!

I’ve got a cyclizine handy for tomorrow morning, hope it works again!

Might dare the coffee first though to help wake me up…museum tomorrow, bit team meeting and then our Christmas lunch

  • Decided not to take cyclizine as of course I’ll be driving…. But have tried the bit of bread to settle my tum first thing. Hope that helps.

  • Hi Moomy is cyclizine bad when you are driving?  I take two a day every day.

  • It makes me drowsy and my vision isn’t wonderful; but if your system is used to it then it should be fine,
