But not a very patient one!
I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?
Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that, plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.
By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.
But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

That’s great moomy Yes, even those of us who’ve had sentinel nodes out are at risk of lymphoedema. I have been up to Gateshead today (dental appointment). No problems on the journey ie not stopped by police. It was a lovely day for a drive. Only 1 pit stop going up and coming back. Had enough food with us to last a week

Where were you travelling from Flossie25 that you needed that much food for legal picnic lol
At least the sun was shining today even if it was a cold wind off the sea we went to Redcar beach
Hope there was no problems with Dental appointment .
My BCN said it would take time, Northerner but should feel better within a few weeks. I think some of the puffiness is a bit better, but I’d quite like the adhesion to improve too, hope it will. Hubs is pale a lot of the time and often tired, he doesn’t sleep well as he gets up to see a lot.
Flossie25, sounds like you were planning to try and stay? Hope the dentist appointment was ok? I need to fix up a routine check with mine.

Would have loved to stay and of course meet up but unfortunately not this time moomy Next trip up will be purely social, and might get to look around and view some properties/areas. Northerner we are in NE Lincs so needed provisions !!

Hubs had his diabetic ‘check’ this morning. Accepted a urine sample (not tested) took blood and blood pressure but no foot check done. (Presumably with a Covid-linked excuse?!) Foot care is really important in diabetics, particularly one with bad spinal problems and replacement hips so getting to those feet is impossible? I am appalled. He will be getting a follow up phone call in 10 days time from his diabetic specialist nurse, this was done by an HCA.
Not much of a check, in my opinion.

Hi moomy that's appalling being type 2 means blood check done annually with practice nurse this year blood and urine tests done next week then phone consultation with nurse about weight ,BP which I'm expected to do myself .
Will have to attend if she feels it's not under control . ( That's a possibility this year drug combination and shielding not good )
Alongside the above I have to attend another health centre annually for the all important eye test and photo plus foot check . Weight also taken . Results sent to me and GP
So I have already had those checks done and nurse has those results on screen .
It's a good system the foot people were the ones who referred me to bone mechanic man couple of years ago because of plantar fasciitis to get made to measure insoles .
Nurse practioner at GP was the one who referred me to podiatrist after chemo because I was losing toe nails .
Hope you get them sorted out without too much stress you don't need anymore to cope with
take care
I think he will be called in to see her (hope so anyway) but our practice is now so big they really are skimping things. He will have an eye check anyway at the hospital as they’ve asked him to book one direct.
Still far from impressed though.

Hubs’ GP phoned, he’s even more anaemic so will need more than one bag of blood, he’s waiting for transport now. At least she’s acting fast this time! He asked for transport as I had just fallen off a stool, gouged my arm and a bruised bum too. Oh heck!
Hubs will definitely be in overnight, I’m glad as he’s been short of breath and feeling cold, I’ve been worried. This time we had a chance to pack an overnight bag!
