Well. Welcome to this thread.
You may be surprised why it is here or happy it is here. Then again: ‘You have got to be joking! Do you know what is wrong with me?’ may be your response.
This all began on the Extreme Fatigue thread. On there several people wanted and needed inspiration/incentive to get out and walk. Many people see the benefits of it in their life and to help on this; mad journey, train ride, rollercoaster ride and other positively rude words journey called Breast Cancer.
It is not a thread created to make anyone feel less than they do at present. It is not a thread that will set people against one another. Being competitive with yourself or a simple challenge to yourself is the point, but not a race against others is a key premis.
The idea is that you can do any of these or none:
Well here goes.
Either it will grow and blossom, with lots of lovely people benefiting. Or I will have egg all over my face – not for the first time in my chequered life and career.
Leolady – may be adding in the odd gallop to my walks.
PS if you don't like us don't be cruel.
Walking back to happiness posts, have brightened my days. Yesterday, I went on a slow stroll to the end of my road & back. Living in a small hamlet in Somerset, a lovely rural setting, I didn't meet anyone but heard laughter from one of the gardens. As I looked towards the bungalow, it was a lady I know who was with her grandson - I think they were working on a flower bed as she had a watering can in her hand. The joy of a child's laughter boosted my spirit. When I got home, I had a couple of hours peaceful & restful sleep.
Stay safe everyone & be kind to yourselves.

Well i have just been to see Murder In The Cathedral at Church with Barby.
She is nice company and we were early so we sat by the River in the evening sun.B said she used to love Am Dram and did a perfectly fab impression of Fanny Craddock..!! A woman of many talents!
It was so funny because we joked that we would wear our tiaras as it was so nice to get dressed up to go out again.
When we were going in,I said “ I didnt put my new necklace on ,”and she said,” You didnt put your new knickers on?” And we laughed! We are both a bit deaf.
The Actors were very good indeed and the costumes!Brilliantly beautiful copes ,and such a brilliant background.
I had never read the play but was happy that I could follow it .Poor Thomas.
Anyway when we came out my old Bank Sister said ,” Goodbye Fiona, Night night darling”, it was so sweet.I remember the first time she saw me in First lockdown and she lives alone and had that extra long look ,that some people had,of people who thought they might never see the familiar faces again.
Barby says it is just like a big family and it certainly is, and lovely to get out in the summmer evening again. She is very friendly and knows a lot of people but I am a bit quieter, so it’s nice.
(COVID rules applied.)
When we got to the car there was someone standing at the door in the light of their little cottage chatting to someone in the road just coming out too,and all under a bright crescent moonxx
Ahhh -midsummer nights are back!
Violetsniff nice story of your evening.
I have a pic icon so here was yesterday at the Great Yorkshire show

Lovely !!they seem to respond well to you xxx
Well,I was out yesterday .On my way back from town I always pass a beautiful Cottage garden and stop to admire the flowers.Just LOOK at these!what a show!!when my father passed away I remember the neat gardens which I passed on my way to town really helped me-it is difficult to tell you why….maybe others will have some answers…May stay in today as my visit to gym plus 3.5 km to different appointments just about totalled me yesterday. When I got in I had to lie down my joints were so sore. But it was my own fault for doing it all in one go and not pacing myself.Also-Too Hot !!
Hi all just catching up and enjoying your pics and updates. Hope everyone is doing OK. Yesterday we got 6 new rescue (ex battery) hens. Bless them they are tiny and in a very poor state. I would post a pic but it won’t let me, will try again later or tomorrow.
