Well. Welcome to this thread.

You may be surprised why it is here or happy it is here. Then again: ‘You have got to be joking! Do you know what is wrong with me?’ may be your response.

This all began on the Extreme Fatigue thread. On there several people wanted and needed inspiration/incentive to get out and walk. Many people see the benefits of it in their life and to help on this; mad journey, train ride, rollercoaster ride and other positively rude words journey called Breast Cancer.

It is not a thread created to make anyone feel less than they do at present. It is not a thread that will set people against one another. Being competitive with yourself or a simple challenge to yourself is the point, but not a race against others is a key premis.

The idea is that you can do any of these or none:

  1. Post when you have walked.
  2. Post how many minutes you walked for.
  3. Post how you felt before, during or after. Or not at all.
  4. Post pictures from your walk, but ones that do not point to where you live.
  5. Post inspirational quotes, thoughts or comments.
  6. A simple like of people’s efforts is fine. No need to write an essay unless you feel the need.
  7. On a safety note. Do tell friends, family or the thread when you leave and return safely. Be aware of your personal safety at all times.

Well here goes.

Either it will grow and blossom, with lots of lovely people benefiting. Or I will have egg all over my face – not for the first time in my chequered life and career.

Leolady – may be adding in the odd gallop to my walks.

PS if you don't like us don't be cruel.

  • Tee hee nothing wrong with being comfortable!!! Funny you should mention local suppliers, a friend messaged me with a local delivery website, so have been able to order more flour and the golden granules (yeast)!! Pricey but glad it’s available. Don’t know delivery date yet though.

Local dog walk today, short drive away. Peaceful woods.... listen to the video.... sounds of spring xx

  • jumping g on the "bread thread" I made damper with my daughter for a bit of fun and we cooked it on the bbq. I wasn't expecting much but it was amazing!!! Had been craving crusty bread.  No yeast required

  • Tablespoon of Lemon juice mixed with the milk

Or you can use white wine vinegar or apple cider .

    obviously bicarbonate as well lol

so easy and quick it means I can do small loaf whilst waiting for home made soup to cook for lunch. Then toast later or next day .

Going to try a recipe I found for raisin and cinnamon soda bread  yum yum Yum

  • I’ve  got a tin of dried yeast  and some wholemeal bread flour .Also a couple of bread mix pots for the machine but I do  like the speed of soda bread sometimes .

I have a small local supplier for my fruit and veg who also sends me some fresh yeast so will be kneading away on Thursday lol

  • l!!!!A CUCKOO!!!

    oh I just love it.

i would put my loaf on here for your delectation but it is rather smashed up as I had to wrestle with it fir 20 minutes to get it out of the bread maker!!

I got the necessaries before “Breakdown”...sorry “Lockdown“....And breadmaker so I have to succeed to make it worth it!!

i get a sliced loaf from my delivery shopping and give that to a poor family who are shielding a vulnerable person and can’t get out....So I have Motivation...but only a little ooomph.

i walked down to the River again today I will pop a video on here if it lets me....9 am seems like a good time sfter joggers and dog-walkers....

    anyway...here goes....

  • As well as bread flour etc our sugarsmights shop sells cake mixes which only need water adding, so today the house smells of chocolate cake (well tomorrow is an important day for me!) much to hubs' disgust (he SAYS he doesn't like either cakes OR chocolate, hahaha!)

ps, all you walkers, what is the best time of day, in your opinion, to avoid fellow exercisers who won't social distance? (I'm thinking I may well go for a wander as I've been so cooped up for weeks!) xxx

  • Sunrise?

It's always beautiful but I don't really know because I rarely see anyone at anytime. We have just come back from a walk around our local lake which we weren't allowed to get to before the déconfinement. There was one other couple about 1km in front of us and no one came by.

Walking up our track most days for 8 weeks has certainly helped our fitness.  We walked all the round in 40 minutes today and in the sunny spots. ...it was sheltered and hot!

I'd never heard of damper before now. Just been on Google, educating myself & my other half.

Good baking out there! I remember doing dampers on a bonfire with my uncle and cousins when we were young.

My Mum is coming over today, we are having a SD walk (I’ve picked a route with open fields and no narrow paths) we are a both bringing our own packed lunch and there is a bench we can use with a lovely view, presuming no one else is there first! Really looking forward to seeing her.

This is from yesterday’s walk I was truck by the buttercups in the meadow. Have a good day all.
