Well. Welcome to this thread.

You may be surprised why it is here or happy it is here. Then again: ‘You have got to be joking! Do you know what is wrong with me?’ may be your response.

This all began on the Extreme Fatigue thread. On there several people wanted and needed inspiration/incentive to get out and walk. Many people see the benefits of it in their life and to help on this; mad journey, train ride, rollercoaster ride and other positively rude words journey called Breast Cancer.

It is not a thread created to make anyone feel less than they do at present. It is not a thread that will set people against one another. Being competitive with yourself or a simple challenge to yourself is the point, but not a race against others is a key premis.

The idea is that you can do any of these or none:

  1. Post when you have walked.
  2. Post how many minutes you walked for.
  3. Post how you felt before, during or after. Or not at all.
  4. Post pictures from your walk, but ones that do not point to where you live.
  5. Post inspirational quotes, thoughts or comments.
  6. A simple like of people’s efforts is fine. No need to write an essay unless you feel the need.
  7. On a safety note. Do tell friends, family or the thread when you leave and return safely. Be aware of your personal safety at all times.

Well here goes.

Either it will grow and blossom, with lots of lovely people benefiting. Or I will have egg all over my face – not for the first time in my chequered life and career.

Leolady – may be adding in the odd gallop to my walks.

PS if you don't like us don't be cruel.

  • Yay I got out this morning. I like when rads appointments are later as I have energy in the morning

took th main roads and motorway to appointment today rathr than back roads....and discovered the water jets  were frozen which did not make things easy or fun. Came off motorway and had to buy some water to try and clean windscreen. Have boutght windscreen wash suitable for -36 temp but it's still allfrozen in the pipes.

hope everyone's appointments went ok if you had some

  • Snap for frozen water jets!! But don't buy water, just carry an empty bottle and fill it at the garage loo. Or ask them to fill it because the water outside is frozen!!

Took me 1.5 hours at 20mph in 2nd gear to get home. Have parked at the bottom of the hill on the main road for a straight shot out in the morning.

Another 10 000 steps and 50 floors today. Looking forward to a day in the office tomorrow, if I get there!!

    xx

  • Well,I finally have been out after being holed up for 2 days...and went outside to have a look what’s what.the majestic weather has left pretty snow drifts in the garden.went to Polish shop and was laughing so much with the assistant who i like about this parsnip.bit like a french ballet dancer....just needs a tutu.(hope its not rude,is it?) I think it might even have a DIEP scar....(i deleted it )

......got lots of 2p pieces so watch out

anyway...my young friend who will remain nameless ,was stuck on the M62last night and I and a lot of others were trying to help her with updates etc all night....she just found it hilarious(!)she had no food or water or blankets and didnt need to make the journey)

I must be getting old or something...I was soooooooo worried for her, anyway, woke up this morn to see her eating a big pizza for breakfast....she had taken shelter in the Community Hall we told her about and got to her destination somehow by train...So drama averted...we were praying hard for her !!xx

I shall not alert THE MODERATOR.  Makes me giggle every time I read that title. Sorry still in primary school mode some days.

I think that it will be the naughty cheeky minds who may think your parsnip is more than it is. Us innocents were see a parnsip with character.

SO .... been out to shop and feed the birds today as the snow has arrived in drifts and icy cold blasts of snowy rain. My cheeks are so

cold!!!! Behave or there will be no afternoon playtime. Ah probably not anyway as the nations schools seem to be shut

Here are my cow boots. Which took me longer to remove than the shopping and bird feeding combined

PLUS A FIELDFARE!!!!! I have never ever seen one before in my garden. 3 of them were having a serious turf war with the resident blackbird.

Take care and hope you all might manage a snowy walk or a slushy one

    | WOW! I am loving you mature ladies still kicking up a storm : )

I am gutted...my phone is playing up..can I blame the snow? It is for done reason very dark and glitchy so although I layered up and wore plastic bags between two pairs of socks  inside my boots and took the dog down to the Gill I couldn't take any photos!!!

The area is lovely anyway but fab in the snow. Doh fog wants to go out so back soon

My phone has big problems and isn't even lighting up properly. The Gill is an area of grass and trees that leads to the riverside. Dog loved it.

My icicles over window doubled in size yesterday

They are over four feet...hope there is no one under them when they finally go...remember I am one floor up!.

Well done if you got out...I better post this while can, take care

  • ....My!those are some icicles...maybe you could do a controlled surgery on them with no one standing underneath...and then the accident can’t happen...I would put them in gin as creatively suggested...

Have been collecting 2p pieces(among questionings)and  now have glued them onto an old pair of shoes...Look Out .....going to be tapping back to happiness while the WBTH choir sings in the background xx

I had no reason to go out on Wednesday, so now I have been stuck in the house for three and a half days! I had hoped the snow would keep off until Thursday afternoon, so we could still tap, but no such luck, and I had to cancel it. Today it is raining, but the snow and ice are clearing only slowly. so it is no good venturing out.
