Well. Welcome to this thread.

You may be surprised why it is here or happy it is here. Then again: ‘You have got to be joking! Do you know what is wrong with me?’ may be your response.

This all began on the Extreme Fatigue thread. On there several people wanted and needed inspiration/incentive to get out and walk. Many people see the benefits of it in their life and to help on this; mad journey, train ride, rollercoaster ride and other positively rude words journey called Breast Cancer.

It is not a thread created to make anyone feel less than they do at present. It is not a thread that will set people against one another. Being competitive with yourself or a simple challenge to yourself is the point, but not a race against others is a key premis.

The idea is that you can do any of these or none:

  1. Post when you have walked.
  2. Post how many minutes you walked for.
  3. Post how you felt before, during or after. Or not at all.
  4. Post pictures from your walk, but ones that do not point to where you live.
  5. Post inspirational quotes, thoughts or comments.
  6. A simple like of people’s efforts is fine. No need to write an essay unless you feel the need.
  7. On a safety note. Do tell friends, family or the thread when you leave and return safely. Be aware of your personal safety at all times.

Well here goes.

Either it will grow and blossom, with lots of lovely people benefiting. Or I will have egg all over my face – not for the first time in my chequered life and career.

Leolady – may be adding in the odd gallop to my walks.

PS if you don't like us don't be cruel.

    Hi

You can buy Segs directly using the link in the message above - I think Amazon has them too :)

You just buy them and hammer them in yourself...

had to call big bro out again on his way to work,as I tried to shut the kitchen window at 5am and the stool went from under me and I ended up hanging from the window!!He did it with a flick of the wrist, thanks big bro x (its hard being short)

  • Yep, as said, my day started before 4.30 this morning. Got home for a quick cuppa about 6, and off again at 7. Finally made it home around 5.45 this afternoon.

Customer and housekeeper (or whatever she is) said how I was looking so good. I said excuse the language but I am f*cking exhausted!!

So far this week, 33 500 steps and 219 floors.

Had fun going up the hill to the house, spinning wheels all the way up and praying I wouldn't get stuck. And tomorrow ??????

    xx

Trying yo catch up on millions of posts.

Flipping fffffreeezin here with snow and ice , horizontal snow, hail, wind. Snow varies ankle to knee deep!

Been out with dog and to mans new place which is less than 5 mins walk away.

Taps...very suprised cobbler didn't have any...any cobbler near a dance school will. When you buy tap shoes they tend to come with toe taps ...but they are poor and so everyone has them replaced and adds heel taps too. Bonus is if you have a little sibling their grown out of toe taps can become your heel taps  : ) Brands are  AJK or Teletone etc.

Well done to everyone getting out...photos are fan. For those not into extreme sports and who can't get the door open or whose two dressing gowns have become welded to their onesie ... count the trips to the kettle and treat tub : )

    Take care

You can also try the mega low tech option of gluing lots of 2p coins to gym shoes/plimsolls. Never tried this but apparently kids do it for community performances etc.

  • ...I love your post! Thanks for the heads up about the 2p pieces!!That is brilliant!!

was watching a prog last night about “the frozen winter”,and it sounded just like what we going through right now!!

This winter could be a documentry in a few years’ time!put yer best hats on,you may be on camera!!So far this week I have spied, from my li’l flat,a bright pink pom pom hat,and a bright lurid green one,go out!!(not really the lace curtain brigade!)Match That!!lol

will be walking later to the (new) posh flix with my old nursey friend...will be holding each other up!to see “Falling on your feet”...!I am so fortunate some of the old friends from the Ward are so kind and have stayed in touch...love ‘em !!Told em not to travel if too icey...

    Anyway....lets have a smile....xx

    Cannon and Shimmering Unicorn

As tap dancing is quite my favourite activity, the words tap dancing jump out at me!! SoI'd just like to say to Cannon, go for it! If you haven't done it before, you can't get worse!!! And it is worth every effort to learn and internalise the basic techniques. There are some amazing you tubes.

I might have mentioned somewhere - I run a tap group on a Thursday, but I'll have to cancel today as there is snow around and there is no point in people driving in that.   The baby of the group is 72 and four of us are over 80!

  • .....wow!that is amazing!thankyou...and keep up your brilliant work!!xxx
