Well. Welcome to this thread.
You may be surprised why it is here or happy it is here. Then again: ‘You have got to be joking! Do you know what is wrong with me?’ may be your response.
This all began on the Extreme Fatigue thread. On there several people wanted and needed inspiration/incentive to get out and walk. Many people see the benefits of it in their life and to help on this; mad journey, train ride, rollercoaster ride and other positively rude words journey called Breast Cancer.
It is not a thread created to make anyone feel less than they do at present. It is not a thread that will set people against one another. Being competitive with yourself or a simple challenge to yourself is the point, but not a race against others is a key premis.
The idea is that you can do any of these or none:
Well here goes.
Either it will grow and blossom, with lots of lovely people benefiting. Or I will have egg all over my face – not for the first time in my chequered life and career.
Leolady – may be adding in the odd gallop to my walks.
PS if you don't like us don't be cruel.
Glad you listening to body ,just don't push too hard at beginning of cycle then you'll

I Haven’t started on chemotherapy yet start 13th December
still recovering from mastectomy and reconstruction 11 days again think I’m expecting too much too soon
i haven’t done any exercise at all for the past 8/9 weeks as I’ve had surgery 3 times with those 8/9 weeks ( 2 lumpectomies and the mastectomy) so it’s taken it out on my fitness quite a lot but hopefully taking it slow like you say ( such wise words thank you) I will get there
hope your keeping well xx
Ahh! Sorry but bear in mind when you start chemo especially with that level of surgery . Took me about 6 weeks to recover from rght side masectomy with sentinel node removal .No reconstruction .
Im not as fit as yourself but am considered fit for age ,no running ,walking now preferably on the flat . I think it has helped with recovery and coping with SE or maybe I'm just stubborn Northerner .
take care

Hi ,
please remember a general anaesthetic takes anything up to 3 whole weeks to totally get out of your system, so go easy on yourself to begin with!
I had a SNB, had a break of 2 weeks then my mx, but had the whole mx repeated 30 hours later due to a haematoma beneath the implant so my recovery was protracted, but I still (just) managed to walk from ward to car the day after my second surgery (which was pretty late in the day) with an arm from daughter, who is slight so I couldn’t lean on her much! I pottered around the house a bit for the first week or so, battling with the drains, but began to walk more after that. I think I was up to a couple of miles about a week after the second drain got removed, so about 3-4 weeks post-op.
Do remember to rest as well, a nap in the afternoon is totally permitted!

Interesting read as always.
I'm slightly puzzled: I came to the site, logged in, read posts, clicked 'reply' button in order to get to this edit area, but then had to log in again. But then, who am I to try and understand the mysteries of the internet!!! *smiley*
Next Thursday will be the last time I a run the tap group, after at least ten years, but it will re-convene in the New Year with one of the dance school teachers. This will cost them a bit more than the £1 a week - because I'm not a teacher and we have always run it as a group - but they are all keen so I shallll be a paying member too!
It's walking with rhythm and sound!!
Hi all, the visiting dog looks very sweet and furry Violetsniff! And , I often have to login a second time when I’m on my phone, doesn’t happen on the laptop. Don’t know why either!
Wettish walking day today, first Nordic walking which started in the rain then dried up, then walk with friend, poured while in cafe then showers on way home, but finished dry and a burst of blue ish sky! Still a few colourful trees left, caught this one when we had the glimmer of a blue sky.
Happy Friday all for tomorrow, hooray it’s nearly the weekend! HFxx
Well done,...and What a majestic tree,HappyFeet1!Had alovely walk down to Creative Writing this morning, passed the river to the other side of town which is like fairyland to me.Sometimes the Dell had swathes of material and Alice in Wonderland clocks, which you happen upon;sometimes very beautiful with the sunshine on the trees;where the huge birds sit on the extremely tall trees and roost..today it was the “Lime Walk” My favourite path to Church covered in knit bombing!!...on Tuesday Creative craft where I finally managed a few more things for the Sale....the ladies make me smile..one asked me for glue to tie down a corner of paper them sat on it to ensure stickage!!hmmmm... and the little old lady opposite me was so sweet and I offered her a bit of pink feather decoration for her sober cards... we made nice friends, x
