Well. Welcome to this thread.
You may be surprised why it is here or happy it is here. Then again: ‘You have got to be joking! Do you know what is wrong with me?’ may be your response.
This all began on the Extreme Fatigue thread. On there several people wanted and needed inspiration/incentive to get out and walk. Many people see the benefits of it in their life and to help on this; mad journey, train ride, rollercoaster ride and other positively rude words journey called Breast Cancer.
It is not a thread created to make anyone feel less than they do at present. It is not a thread that will set people against one another. Being competitive with yourself or a simple challenge to yourself is the point, but not a race against others is a key premis.
The idea is that you can do any of these or none:
Well here goes.
Either it will grow and blossom, with lots of lovely people benefiting. Or I will have egg all over my face – not for the first time in my chequered life and career.
Leolady – may be adding in the odd gallop to my walks.
PS if you don't like us don't be cruel.
Went to Chorlton waterpark today, entirely forgetting about the Great Manchester Run. Road closures and massive queues, but got there OK. Tired after my long walk yesterday, but enjoyed it. Saw somcygnets. Couldn't get anywhere near my favourite cafe because of traffic, so gave up on lunch and cuppa and went home. New boots still lovely and comfortable, and I got my refund quickly.
Xxx Pic came out very small, can hard,y see the cygnets!
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
Hi all,
Love the swans and cygnets, seaspirit44, sadly I have no photos today but I did my Nordic walking taster session which was great! Can feel it now, the instructor did say that it really gets your upper body working (which is why it's been recommended to me for breast lymphoedema). Anyhoo I've signed up for a fast track course starting next thursday, eek!! I think it's going to be the perfect exercise for me, I love walking anyway and it's all in a beautiful park. Just no opportunity for taking photos, that'll have to be for my more leisurely non-Nordic walks. And there's even a session with Tai Chi thrown in which I'll be able to join after my first lesson.
I was wondering when your very special day is? May will soon be drawing to a close and I'm sure it's this month?! Very exciting!! And great to see you in the rads club.
Hope to have pictures from Sunday dog walk tomorrow....
Hi HappyFeet1 and everyone. Yes my special day is on Tuesday. We travel down to London tomorrow. Having dinner at the Shard in the evening! Monday we are taking the River Bus to take the Emirates skyline over the Thames and going to see Wicked in the evening. And then Tuesday is the Royal Garden Party. Then home Wednesday. Looking forward to it but am anxious about getting around as with my non cooperative foot i am quite disabled at the moment. I have dowloaded the UBER ap and we will throw money at getting around. Think hubby is a bit disappointed that I won't be able to do more - but seeing as it was me who was invited I shan't feel too guilty.
I will post pics . . . . .
Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone xx
Ooh that sounds like an action-packed few days, how wonderful, ! Can't wait for the pics. And definitely throw money at getting around safely and without pressure - this is your moment! Such a lovely event, enjoy it all!!! HFxxx
