Well. Welcome to this thread.

You may be surprised why it is here or happy it is here. Then again: ‘You have got to be joking! Do you know what is wrong with me?’ may be your response.

This all began on the Extreme Fatigue thread. On there several people wanted and needed inspiration/incentive to get out and walk. Many people see the benefits of it in their life and to help on this; mad journey, train ride, rollercoaster ride and other positively rude words journey called Breast Cancer.

It is not a thread created to make anyone feel less than they do at present. It is not a thread that will set people against one another. Being competitive with yourself or a simple challenge to yourself is the point, but not a race against others is a key premis.

The idea is that you can do any of these or none:

  1. Post when you have walked.
  2. Post how many minutes you walked for.
  3. Post how you felt before, during or after. Or not at all.
  4. Post pictures from your walk, but ones that do not point to where you live.
  5. Post inspirational quotes, thoughts or comments.
  6. A simple like of people’s efforts is fine. No need to write an essay unless you feel the need.
  7. On a safety note. Do tell friends, family or the thread when you leave and return safely. Be aware of your personal safety at all times.

Well here goes.

Either it will grow and blossom, with lots of lovely people benefiting. Or I will have egg all over my face – not for the first time in my chequered life and career.

Leolady – may be adding in the odd gallop to my walks.

PS if you don't like us don't be cruel.

    Hello Ronstar

I echo Whathappened’s comments. I hope everything turns out really well for you and your daughter.

    Best wishes

  • 2 miles walked, warm, sticky weather......lots of wet leaves on the ground. I’m happy as I also did some washing and cleaning and baked a loaf in my beloved bread maker.

At least too, the Apple Watch is happy!

    Hugs xxx

I’m so sorry you had to cancel your holiday. That must have been a massive disappointment for you both. This whole insurance issue is a real headache. I’ve only really got one suggestion. Maybe try going through an insurance broker rather than directly as they know the market better than we do and and can usually negotiate better rates too.

Lim so impressed you tried Indian cookery. That’s  really going to pep up your menus. Do tell us how you get on.

I haven’t got out today as it’s been raining all day but you inspire me to try tomorrow.

  • Sorry to hear about the cancellation of your holiday Lindsay.

Is it the breast cancer keeping the price up or something else?

I only ask because when we went to Tenerife (not South Africa I know!!) I went on the comparison websites and they were hardly any more than what we would normally pay. This surprised me but when answering the health questions they did ask if treatment was finished. This must make a difference as they way I see it is, you go on holiday find a lump and wait until you get home to do anything about it. I mean it doesn't make you ill or anything. Not sure if I'm making sense here or just waffling, sorry!!!

    Maybe I should stop!!!! xxx

It was the pericarditis that I was hospitalised for last week that they refused me on. I am awaiting my Halloween appt with onco to decided what next re Hercpetin. Though the onco has emailed to say pericarditis not a known SE of Herceptin. Ohhh I do like to test them. NOT.

Still the all clear of BC has top trumped this latest poop

    Hugs for your concern

sorry you have been poorly and that it affected your holiday plans.

well a week into my 6 months chemo regime and I have been out twice for walks around my park, the autumnal colours are absolutely stunning, thought id share a bit of my view.

  • The colours are stunning at present, I’m reminded of the poet Shelley, ‘yellow, black, pale and hectic red’

(think that’s the quotation I remember?)

  • hope you are continuing to improve...bit of a bu**er about your holiday but your health is more important. You can plan to get to SA later.

Had a quick tootle around the village but felt so cold had to cut it short...had been feeling quite fatigued before that so expect it was something to do with that. The walk did perk me up though.

  • So here I am in the Florida keys! Not many places to walk - it's definitely driving territory! We had a little stroll to a restaurant last night and a very early sunrise swim this morning. Perhaps I'll try a tiny run this evening!

Hope everyone is having good walking etc

  • Lots of beautiful leaves lying on the ground today,

reminded of Shelley’s ‘Ode to a West Wind’(I think?)

‘Drive my dead thoughts over the Universe

Like withered leaves, to quicken a new birth’.....

    And;

‘Leaves, yellow and black, pale and hectic red’ I’ve probably miss-quoted
