Well. Welcome to this thread.
You may be surprised why it is here or happy it is here. Then again: ‘You have got to be joking! Do you know what is wrong with me?’ may be your response.
This all began on the Extreme Fatigue thread. On there several people wanted and needed inspiration/incentive to get out and walk. Many people see the benefits of it in their life and to help on this; mad journey, train ride, rollercoaster ride and other positively rude words journey called Breast Cancer.
It is not a thread created to make anyone feel less than they do at present. It is not a thread that will set people against one another. Being competitive with yourself or a simple challenge to yourself is the point, but not a race against others is a key premis.
The idea is that you can do any of these or none:
Well here goes.
Either it will grow and blossom, with lots of lovely people benefiting. Or I will have egg all over my face – not for the first time in my chequered life and career.
Leolady – may be adding in the odd gallop to my walks.
PS if you don't like us don't be cruel.
Weird day.....OH is on antibiotics for a UTI. He was painfully constipated. Thought a walk might help so we did a nice country walk but he got worse. We went to the clinic who supplied the antibiotics.....by then terrible pain.....after an x-ray whisked away by ambulance to Faro hospital. I wasn't allowed to go as it's night.
So when we walked , it was warm and sunny and very pretty. It's so strange to see orchards with oranges.......or olive trees which have already been harvested.
Our holiday cottage , bottom right photo. White house furthest left beside tree.
Arrived at my destination from town centre. No pics as it started to chuck it down, had to wrestle with brolly in the wind and also following directions through headphones ( had a couple of missteps lol). Having a nice cuppa as refreshments available. Hubby still busy. I’m drying out.

Brilliant post! Well done for encouraging people to make a little bit of effort to get out.
I am still in the having tests, biopsies, scans to find out what my cancer is (I have 2 lumps on my breast and in lymph nodes)
I have a German Shepherd Dog and my son has two spaniels. He is self employed in the agricultural world and always busy so I take his dogs as well as my own dog.
At the moment I feel absolutely drained but the dogs remind me I need to go out and it gives me gentle exercise
Due to my age and health I have to take each dog out separately and the walks are by no means long.
However we go for three walks up the lane where I live and I give them a run in a field.
This morning, 15th January 2026, on our morning walk in the sunshine I spotted a precious sign of "new beginnings and hope" - I spotted a single Snowdrop in full bloom surrounded by some Snowdrops in bud!
Seeing them standing proudly in the sunshine gave me a glowing feeling of "don't worry, you are getting the best care possible and you will be ok" - it was a feeling of "new beginnings and hope"!
The photo isn't brilliant but here is a photo of "new beginnings and hope"!
Beautiful! Keep up those walks (I guess your dogs don’t give you a choice!) as regular gentle walks do help battle fatigue. And keep your spirits up, the coming spring should help with that! This is the worst time, waiting while all those tests are sorted, once you know your individual plan it will be easier. Keep posting, too….
Hugs xxx
