Well. Welcome to this thread.

You may be surprised why it is here or happy it is here. Then again: ‘You have got to be joking! Do you know what is wrong with me?’ may be your response.

This all began on the Extreme Fatigue thread. On there several people wanted and needed inspiration/incentive to get out and walk. Many people see the benefits of it in their life and to help on this; mad journey, train ride, rollercoaster ride and other positively rude words journey called Breast Cancer.

It is not a thread created to make anyone feel less than they do at present. It is not a thread that will set people against one another. Being competitive with yourself or a simple challenge to yourself is the point, but not a race against others is a key premis.

The idea is that you can do any of these or none:

  1. Post when you have walked.
  2. Post how many minutes you walked for.
  3. Post how you felt before, during or after. Or not at all.
  4. Post pictures from your walk, but ones that do not point to where you live.
  5. Post inspirational quotes, thoughts or comments.
  6. A simple like of people’s efforts is fine. No need to write an essay unless you feel the need.
  7. On a safety note. Do tell friends, family or the thread when you leave and return safely. Be aware of your personal safety at all times.

Well here goes.

Either it will grow and blossom, with lots of lovely people benefiting. Or I will have egg all over my face – not for the first time in my chequered life and career.

Leolady – may be adding in the odd gallop to my walks.

PS if you don't like us don't be cruel.

  • Hi all

Flossie25 I don’t walk every day, but when in motorhome walking is a must.

Went to Wiltshire with daughter for the weekend, so muddy but such beauty along the towpaths…

knee still aches but was worth it to get out in the countryside. We will go again as discovering Wiltshire in all its beauty.

  • Bumping the thread up.
I’ve been walking in between shops again but also out in a local park but didn’t take any pics. I started doing some Joe Wicks exercises, starting short sessions, and I still twanged my hip so went onto Pilates with resistance band. Trouble is I’m not consistent. Really need some motivation but seem to be lacking at the minute .. kick up the proverbial perhaps Thinking

  • I’m still trying to walk every day, a mile if I can, any more is a bonus. Like you,  I don’t always remember photos, but here’s one of yesterday….

  • I think you’re doing really well on the walking front  and you’re doing way better than me re pics. I’ll have to make it my goal tomorrow to make the effort…. if I remember Joy

  • Glad you’ve woken the thread up  ! I’ve been walking but also seem to be forgetting to take photos lately. Did 2 lovely Nordic walks last week in different bits of the countryside nearby, we had some welcome blue skies but didn’t capture any of it! Mind you it’s difficult to take photos with the poles though we do stop for slugs of water and nose blows! Have also walked in and out of town so here is the town Christmas tree complete with wonderful yarn bomber decorations. Very clever. Love to all, HFxx

  • Here is my contribution from the early morning walks.....my problem at the moment is that it is dark until 08.30 ( that extra hour for European time?) and I don't seem to get time later but hopefully once we're away, we plan a lot of walking instead of using the car.

  • Christmas Day walk late morning which was good in the “balmy” weather. Need another one in the morning after all the extra nibbles/chocs today.
