Well. Welcome to this thread.
You may be surprised why it is here or happy it is here. Then again: ‘You have got to be joking! Do you know what is wrong with me?’ may be your response.
This all began on the Extreme Fatigue thread. On there several people wanted and needed inspiration/incentive to get out and walk. Many people see the benefits of it in their life and to help on this; mad journey, train ride, rollercoaster ride and other positively rude words journey called Breast Cancer.
It is not a thread created to make anyone feel less than they do at present. It is not a thread that will set people against one another. Being competitive with yourself or a simple challenge to yourself is the point, but not a race against others is a key premis.
The idea is that you can do any of these or none:
Well here goes.
Either it will grow and blossom, with lots of lovely people benefiting. Or I will have egg all over my face – not for the first time in my chequered life and career.
Leolady – may be adding in the odd gallop to my walks.
PS if you don't like us don't be cruel.
MamaG it probably varies
I had mine 19 years ago and I had reconstruction. In hospital for 5 days, home with very gentle arm exercises and building up over few weeks. Probably 6 weeks to feel more myself. Reconstruction was a boob job!
will be thinking of you

Have not been able to visit the waterpark recently because of the heat. Rain yesterday, so went and really enjoyed it. Saw the swan family I have been watching. The cygnets are growing well. Mr Swan was looking aggressive so I retreated to take my pic
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!

Good luck for op today MamaG . Love your dog, re walking him after mastectomy, think it really varies from person to person so be guided by your body and err on the side of caution. Definitely nothing that might pull the wound. I had a lumpectomy so less surgery but still a very long incision so was very careful. My dog is quite big and although she doesn’t pull on the lead, she can lunge if she sees a cat so didn’t walk her till I felt well healed. Thinking of you today xxxxx
Puffin trip was lovely, pretty wet but so much bird life!

Love puffins! Only seen them once on Lundy Island years ago.
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!

ar Schluchsee lake, Germany, just before it poured with a bit of thunder. Lovely drive and through Freiburg..exploring the town later.
