The operation

So in   5 days time I have the operation to remove the tumour - randomly known as Ian.

Why in the last few days have I become incredibly tired and emotional ??
Did anyone else feel the same?
  • So who would buy their child rollerboots for a birthday in January? Can only think that BC has sent me slightly nuts. 45 mins frozen solid teaching child to skate up and down street. Snuck inside now and sent hubby to park with her (she is still on skates, God help him!). Can feel duvet calling me to it....

Sorry lovely lady you can't blame this one on the C word.

Got a feeling Libby would have got skis if she'd asked or indeed a bobsleigh

    Tee hee

  • She didn't even ask for them...I just guessed she would love them, outdoors/doing things kind of kid.....oh well, DH returned from park unable to feel his hand and feet but I got a 45 min nap. To use a Libby phrase.....winner winner chicken dinner!

  • Bringing things back to rubbish old BC who has what this week?

I know Jackie had chemo nurse appt Monday and starts Thurs with scan inbetween. Deb starts Tues (is that right). Bigguy chemo Tues (white blood cells permitting) and me and Runner have appts on Friday. Jolly is it your CT scan this week?

Sure I missed people just jotting down from memory...which is bad at best of times.

Feels like a big week for us...collectively we are strong and bloody tough though so all these blasted appts are just a step nearer to a time when we will have no appts.

    Xxx

    JammyR,

skates sounds like a lovely idea, she’ll get the hang of them. Have you got elbow/knee pads for her?? My daughter used to love her skates.

It does sound like we’re all busy with appointments this week. I’ve got a CT on Tuesday as well as (hopefully) chemo. Not looking forward to scan as ”special drink” mentioned in blurb that came with appointment letter :-0

    xx

Collective hug to all with significant milestones this week. Another step nearer to the end of treatment so best foot forward x

  • Bigguy  isn't that just typical of NHS you think the custom we give them they could give you an alcoholic drink instead of the scan crap.....I fear I have all this to come very soon.

Yep we have knee/elbow pads as she has a skateboard so making her wear them. She has just asked me (seriously thought she was kidding) if she can wear rollerskates to church parade this evening......now the vicar is a relaxed kinda guy but....

  • Jammy

The whole family should roller skate into the service . That’s a pic we would all love to see and giggle on

    I could gallop alongside

Well it seems like I’m the only one off appts list this week so that’s a big sigh of relief for me. Wishing you all are safe trip through the next appts and A’s has been said it is one more step closer to the end of the train journey.

    Take care

Lol way to go libby, rollerskating church parade, why not!

Yes I've got ct scan on weds jammy. Bigguy, i think we get injected with the special stuff, although no mention of that at in in my letter, just the litre of water to be drank at appointment in half hr before get scan. That'll be interesting in itself, but if do get the injection of stuff, one side effect is makes you feel like you are passing water....great combo! Think i may wear a packet of tenas just to be safe.

Ive spent the afternoo n modelling animals out of icing in prep for an 11th bday. My back is not thankful, guess i should do afternoon exercises, might help

    JammyR,

Libby should do it!! She only gets her birthday once a year ;-) Hope your nap left you suitably recharged.

I’m too nervous to go to Church as really scared of bugs etc, especially with white cells being so low. I felt bad tonight as my youngest really wanted me to go with him to the monthly “alternative“ service. Hubster came to rescue and said he needed early night as went on sleepover last night so best to stay at home. Phew!!

JollyG, I’ve got some excitement to look forward to then eh??? Thanks for top tip on tenas!! However my airing cupboard is full of sanitary products that I no longer appear to need!! The said CT Scan with contrast - that’s the iv bit isn’t it?? But I read the leaflet that came with it and it said if having an abdominal scan (I am) you have to have the drink. Hope it’s just the iv thing!!

Hope there’s no nasty news for everybody with appointments this week.

    Hugs to everyone xx
