So in   5 days time I have the operation to remove the tumour - randomly known as Ian.

Why in the last few days have I become incredibly tired and emotional ??
Did anyone else feel the same?
  • Thank you so much for your support ladies. I was filling up reading Leoladys lovely comments so was a wreck by the time I got to Bigguy!! Jackie has put into words my feelings exactly, we don't know each other on here in the normal sense but the common understanding we have for each other's situation is such a source of strength and support. I too get a bit emotional reading updates re results etc.

Don't think I've fully taken today's news in yet sort of feel a bit numb but DH and I have talked a lot this evening and both feeling positive (ish!). Had a lovely evening out and ate most of a 3 course meal having not eaten much all week. Libby didn't eat much, looks pale and informed me 9 people (inc her 2 best pals) in her class off with tummy bugs so can guess where this weekend may be heading!!! She hasn't been ill for absolutely ages which makes me more nervous!!

Jolly - that's good that at least you know they are talking about your case. It still must feel a bit vague and frustrating but really hope by mid week yu have the answers and those answers are positive one.

What's everyone got planned for the weekend? I like weekends because I don't have to worry about any of us having appointments!

Right I'm dead on my feet, bed and hopefully a decent sleep is calling xxx

Awww Jammy!! Sounds like you had the perfect night after a s**ty day!! Appointment days & Results days are absolutely draining. You’ll sleep well tonight!! If you don’t I quite often party on the “Awake” thread around 3-5am!’

I went out out solo tonight for 1st time since op. Arranged to meet 2 friends in town. Got on tram, car hit moving tram near where I sat!! Big bang, big flash, had to get off tram!! Got into town but I was really shaken up for a bit!!

I’m singing carols tomorrow morning at our Church then tree up pm. Not sure about Sunday yet.

Have a good weekend, hope your baby pale coz she’s tired not ill :-(

    xXx

  • Oh gosh Bigguy that must have really shaken you up, not what you need when going out. Hope you are ok love.

Well my baby has thrown up everywhere so I'm now on sick child duty while hubby on cleaning up duty. Couldn't script it...rubbish rubbish day! Least its weekend so we can have a family duvet day tomorrow .

Also pleased to hear that something is sort of happening regarding any future treatment.

Sorry to hear Libby isn’t well Joanne, a nice snuggly weekend is just what you all need.

mrsox......thinking of you and hope you’re back on here soon with your cheeky chat.

I had a lovely surprise today, my son and daughter in law surprised me with a trip to Disneyland starting tomorrow for my 60th Birthday pressie next week. Little Millie will be with us and I just can’t wait to see her enjoying every moment. Oh it will be so nice to get away for a few days and do something completely different.

Well I hope you all get a good nights sleep ladies, sending the sweet dreams fairy to you all xxxxxxx

Goooood morning on this cold and frosty start

If someone had told me 3 months ago that I would find myself with a new group of friends who were; gentle, kind, generous of their time, mad as hatters, funny and totally supportive of everyone in their group I'd have thought 'no flipping way'. Yet here we all united by a cr@@@y situation and being just that. FLIPPING AMAZING. That has made me really tear up. Every morning I wake up and read the 'Awake' and 'Operation' posts. I feel I want to make sure you are all safe and happy - or as happy as we can be.

Jacks - 60 no way you don't look it. I might have said that before, sorry for the repeat. WOW a lovely a surprise trip and to Disneyland. SO jealous. I'm a big kid with things like that and the space for galloping is endless. I shall have to mention this in front of daughters and hubby.

Jammy - hope Libby is feeling better this morning. Do be careful that you and hubby you don't fall ill with it. I've got to say my lurgy is still lurking and has taken so long to battle because of Ian. Think its attack of the domestos/dettol or other cleaning products are available for you guys. Still a duvet day and dvd's seem a great idea. They have been my choice over the last few weeks and I can thoroughly recommend it. Oh and a big helping of snuggles, cuddles and hugs.

Bigguy - hope your night went on to be a good one. Blimey what a shocker. I know we all like to have a night that goes off with a bang but not literally thank you. Oh for a good sing song I am so missing choir. Boo hoo. I'd be no use though as a cranky voice is part of the lurgy.

Jolly- hope you are in a good place and undies are in place!

Well I'm off present delivering today. Off to the wilds of  ............................... GRIMSBY. Yes hold back lovelies no signs of jealousy please. My big sis lives there. Someone has to. So it's a curry night with them, walk by the sea on Sunday and a trip out that is a surprise. Back on Monday. We are hoping to avoid the traffic.I'm hoping to chat with the bro-in-law - he of recently diagnosed bone cancer . My big sis needs to be able to chat about things but he is not ready to share. But she is about to explode emotionally and and and.

Well 4 hour journey ahead and nothing packed not even a pair of pants! Couldn't even share my sister's as she is the short fat hairy legged one and I'm the tall knobbly kneed one.

Have a good weekend, be gentle with yourself.

    Take care

    Lindsay/ Leolady xxxxxx

    Jammy sending big hug

Not the best news but definitely not the worst eh.  More surgery not great but at least they got you in quickly.  Your team seem to have everything in hand concerning your treatment, and we will all take care of your emotional well being, and of course let you shout and scream as much as you need to to keep you fighting.

    Stay strong lovely lady

    You got this.

  • Hi ladies.

Jackie - wow what a wonderful family you have enjoy every minute of your special surprise. One things for certain you won't have time to think about BC in Disneyland!

Bigguy - meal sounds lovely. Isn't it lovely when you get a chance to kick back a little and have a good time with friends.

Leolady - I have a great aunt in Grimsby but years since I've been. I bet your sister will enjoy your company and support. Hope the journey was ok.

Jolly - imagine you'll be having a busy weekend given the time if year and kids!

Ali - how are you feeling? Hope the anti sickness meds are still working and you've had a good day.

So we had to cancel plans today due to vomitting child...and it's been lovely just the 3 of us not leaving the house. Libby stopped being sick by 1am so got some sleep, looked terrible until lunchtime then demanded chicken soup and is back to herself now more or less. Love how kids bounce so quickly. Remains to be seen if she has gifted us the bug...dont want to miss Strictly final so better not have done!!

Yesterday's news still sinking in....its like the worry moves on from one tjing to the next. My fear was it had spread to the nodes tested, now fretting about next results day mid Jan as they mentioned CT scans etc if lots more nodes involved. Oh and of course an operation to deal with before then. But the Drs seemed positive yesterday and I have a week off from appointments etc so going to enjoy myself and what comes next won't change however much I worry.

Right Libby wants to play and husband has made a timely exit to mess with his guitar so looks like it's me on shift!
