So in  5 days time I have the operation to remove the tumour - randomly known as Ian.
JammyR - so pleased to see that you finally got your mammo results. It's a relief, isn't it? Enjoy that meal out.
Deb09 - Wishing you a quick recovery from the surgery.
Had a nice day planned as I don't work Fridays and was going drop into Maggie's for some counselling advice and then off to a Burns' Supper at a friend's tonight. But my wee man woke up puking and has been sick on the hour since, now sleeping. So much quieter day now in store - I'm not going to the Burns thing in case I'm typhoid Annie. On the bright side, chemo totally cured me of my fear of being sick. Water off a duck's back now. (I knew there had to be a bright side!)

Violetsniff - love the name lol and thankyou yes Tsunami has struck Macclesfield hospital so ive made good my escape :-)) xxxx
Yay for results JammyR!! 5 weeks is way too long to wait for results. You’ll enjoy the best tea out with hubby & Libby later.
Aspen - what a pain you can’t celebrate Burn’s night Hope your little one is getting better.
Deb09 - hope you’re feeling better and not too sore after your oophing!! I’ve heard it’s quite sore after but only for approx a week.
- Hope you’re galloping again after your endocarditis etc.
jacks77 - How are you doing??
Not too bad here. Almost finished “Moving Forward” course provided by Breast Cancer Care. It’s been helpful but not really told me how to get down to sorting out the nitty gritty of the fear and anger that BC has left me with. I’ve changed breast nurse as really didn’t find mine helpful or compassionate; new one is amazing and has offered counselling with her and also referred me on to psych dept. Work been ok, folk have been very supportive but I’ve expected far too much of myself and burn myself out easily. Oh well, I suppose we’ll all get there at our own pace.
Hope everyone ok and keeping warm and virus-free xx
Hello, hope its ok to pop in and say Hi and ask if its OK to send a friend request as your post last paragraph 'called out' to me to read especially the bit about counselling and psych as am wanting this myself and any helpful advice would be so welcome, thank you .... been waiting a year for this and nothing has happened so far. Best wishes to all the lovely special ladies in the c club may we find strength and much needed humour in our crappy situation and light at the end of the tunnel.
Bigguy - Lovely to hear from you and thanks im hoping my recovery isnt going to be too long just a bit sore as expected! I had a little counselling which did help with the fear and anxiety but ive resigned myself to the fact i think it will be the passing of time to lessen the fear for me! Im the same with trying to do more than im physically and mentally ready for but we have been through a tough ordeal and i suppose we have to be patient but it is frustrating isnt it! Big hugs Deb xx
Hi there, have you been into your local McMillan centre, ours is in my local hospital, they have been fabulous. I have had some massage therapy, look good feel better day, health and wellbeing day , mindfulness course(meditation) offered counselling but did not take it and a recovery gym programme.
Hope you get the recovery help you need
Lovely to hear from you. Yes 5 weeks for mammo results is out of order and I still haven't had letter, only got them because my trial nurse checked daily for me to see if record updated. My BCN been useless in all this as seems to have forgotten how to answer a phone! Glad you are happy with your new one and that things are generally going well. I think we can all join you with the anger and anxiety caused by BC. It still occupies far too much of my thinking time but like Deb says, time passing will doubtless help us all.
Deb09 keep.resting and hope the soreness eases. You have coped brilliantly with everything.
Aspen typical that a sicky child led to change of plans. Libby is rarely ill but always seems to choose the absolute worse time when she is!
, , jacks77, - hope you are having a nice weekend.
We had a lovely meal out this evening to mark the 1 year all clear and reward Libby for yet again being a star this week whilst I have been knocked out with a fluey bug. Also booked little week away in Scotland for June, something to look forward to.
Take care everyone x
Lovely to hear you are coming to Scotland on holiday, Joanne. Where, if you don't mind me asking?
Something you said about BC taking up too much of our thinking time reminded me of this Billy Connolly quote about Parkinson's, which really helps me to get things in perspective.
"(Parkinson's) is the first thing I think about every morning when I wake up. So I try to make the second thing I think about more interesting."
Bigguy - glad to hear you have changed your BCN and getting better help.

Good morning Team The Operation
I decided I needed a few days away from the site, well posting replies as just sometimes I need some head space.
But I do read all the posts
So here goes for a round up.
Me I am well. So there.
Deb09 I am pleased I have my uses. Peeing people off has been mentioned before. Hope the nether regions are recovery well.
Aspen hope your little one is fine and you have lost your status as Typhoid Annie. That did make me smile. mmmm hope you don't mind but I wont add your 'no longer squeamish about being sick' to the monthly chat group!!
it was pericarditis a little better than endo!! So I am told. Now on ease off on the meds from Feb and an ultrasound and see cardio guy in 3 months. Could be interesting as we are off for 2 months in the caravan. YEAH sunshine here we come. NOW listen here, you kick back on the work front or else The Op Team will come and sort you out Mrs B. Glad you now have someone who will listen . The BCN's where I am are over worked and really its unfair to everyone. Guess that is the song of the NHS!!
the only measurement for being here is: can you take a joke? Do you see the funny side of this crap? And do you use glittery swear words? Your welcome if you do and actually if you don't.
where are you?How are you?
To all who have dropped away we are so hope that is because you are mending well and moving on to the new you
Hugs dear pals
Lindsay
We booked Craig Tara (Haven holiday place near Ayr). Suits us all as decent pool and activities for Libby but nice scenery and we can go across to Arran etc. We usually do Devon/Cornwall but that bit of Scotland is only 4 hours away so easier journey too.
Do I remember rightly that you live in Edinburgh? Or have I made that up?!
Joanne
