Hi Sal  I‘ve been keeping up with what’s happening.

Side effects of chemo got me very tired.

Otherwise would have made London Meeting.

Oncologist Meeting tomorrow at 11:10am that is with the great Onc rather than twat Onc Registrar ( I’ve made it known never want to see him agai).

CT Scan Monday 16th April at 17:00 to see if chemo is working and result to that on April 30th.

I saw the Macmillan Psychogical Therapist last week which helped,  then had a minor meltdown with a lovely Chemo Nurse who asked how I felt, pretty bad at time,  as I knew the girl who had been shot in Tottenham N London; she used to volunteer at the Youth Centre where I worked.

I’m trying to get fitter but exercise is hard when you‘ve got no energy as people here well know.

It’s great to hear that you are with Bella and family :-) give her a pat from me.

    Love & look after yourself

  • Hi , of course you can borrow L.P on the 23rd. I shall book it in his diary! Although I might just need a little reminder nearer the time. Xx

No problem , I was just wandering! Is this to treat weak bones or as a preventative to Bone Mets? Or maybe both! I'm still debating the whole bone strengthening thing, although airing on the side of taking it! But no decision needed until my Gum has been checked out! xxx

  • Hi LondinLass, so glad the meet went well. Hopefully I will be fit for the next one.

Please could I borrow LP for  Mon and Tues 16th and 7th? I am having my first surveillance colonoscopy and have to be admitted the day before for observation and drip, as I tend to faint during the bowel prep. Please tell LP that there will be no singing a the surgeon does not like it. Uncle Paddy Wiggle Ears was far to raucous last time, and I think he would put the surgeon off. Anyway, Thailand is too far for him to travel. LP was  so good last time he was with me for the HIckman line removal.

Big hugs LondonLass, and thank you again for starting this wonderful thread xxxxxxxx

Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!

  • Hi London its  as a preventive for secondary   I still haven't had a Dexa scan so don't t know my bone state still even though been on Anastrozole since last March. Have to ask them again x

  • Glad you made it home safe Sal - yesterday was just brilliant!!

I finally surfaced sometime after 12 today - guess I needed it.

Gat I trust you've made some progress towards settling in.

Marmalade has taken up a new hobby. Usually, the pipe from the tumble dryer gets put out of the fanlight window in the kitchen. He has taken to leaving the house through the gap. The other night, I didn't notice he was missing. I'd heard the commotion, but looked outside and didn't see anything and didn't think anything of it. Kahlua apparently led Rob to the door and miaowed until he opened it - and in came my cat. Poor guy must have been terrified. Anyhow, I figured he probably scared himself out of trying it again after being outside all night. But no, yesterday he did it again. Luckily we realised quite soon he was missing, opened the door and he came running back in. Kitchen is a bit warm now, as I've dried the laundry with the hose lying in the sink. Why does a cat who has been terrified of the outdoors all his life suddenly decide to start climbing out of windows?

     -  never try to second guess why a cat does anything!!! You'll always be wrong. Why? Because the cat says so!!!

     - hope the move went well and that I can set off my congratulatory fireworks soon to celebrate!

     - thanks for the hug - always welcome! I've been much better today - who knows why yesterday was one of 'those' days...

     - good luck for the appointment tomorrow and the CT next week. Fingers crossed that the Cape will be as effective for you as it was for me for the first few months. Also fingers crossed that the bloody side effects don't become a real problem so that you can carry on with it if it is doing the job!

Good wishes to everyone with appointments/results/ chemo/radio etc etc this week - may they go as well as possible!

I'm treating myself to a reflexology session tomorrow  - not sure that it works in the way they say it does, but  I love having my feet massaged and I wasn't able to have it done whilst the hand/foot syndrome from the Cape was so bad!  An hour of luxury...  I'll have to see what she says about the lump that has suddenly appeared on the bottom of my foot - another thing to mention to the oncologist on the 20th!
