.
I am pleased to report that although I did wake a few times, I slept from 9 pm to 5.30 am when a cat jumped on me wanting his breakfast. Who knows if I had left the door shut if I would still be asleep! My OH did come to bed despite my telling him not to but it was only 10.30 and I woke only briefly for a toilet visit. IMy arm really hurts but the exhaustion won!! I haven't had that much sleep in 18 months.I hope everyone else slept well xx
Good morning...
What a strange day yesterday turned into.....
Has anyone else been taken ill an hour from home , the only driver and a passenger who can't be left?
I don't know quite what happened. We had gone to the Sales. ..the last days have very advantageous savings in France....as mum still has need of new clothes for her reduced weight. We did some shopping and as we went for lunch I realised I had a headache. As it was getting worse I decided we should abandon the afternoon and go home. Terrifyingly, I was on the motorway when I realised I would be sick. The next slipway seemed an eternity but there was no other option. Luckily I made it but before I could pull in, on the roundabout, I was sick. It was the start of a nightmare drive. I took the back roads from there and had to stop three more times. I went really slowly and fortunately there was practically no traffic . I didn't know what else to do. I did get home and crawled into bed with a bowl. I have just got up after 12 hours!
I think it was vertigo. I do have meds which I managed to take at home but the headache wasn't so servere and normally I couldn't have managed an hour without fainting or lying down.
Was it a case of mind over matter? I had to get mum home.I kept thinking that if I collapse, someone would have called an ambulance and I couldn't leave mum.
So I am hoping for a better day. I have a lot of very unplesant car cleaning!

Lacomtekp that sounds like a terrible experience. Not vertigo as everything spins and you wouldn't be able to move at all without falling over. Sounds like migraine or a vile and sudden virus bug.
A member of staff at work suddenly started vomiting and bottom leakages as well, was fine a 12 hours later sounds similar.
Sad to say this is the reality of caring for someone 24 hours a day. You're always on duty and responsible for another person's life. Caring is a work of the heart, and I think you are amazing.
Next time, if possible take a back up team member who can drive. Or go on bus or train.
Hope you are well soon poor ole you xxx
