  • He knows he's not allowed upstairs let alone the bed he's like a naughty toddler Joy

He heard me coming so he sat perfectly still in the dark ,in the first pic he's refusing to look directly at me . On hearing the command get down he walked to end of bed and lay down to look mournfully at me .

One step at a time and ...Breathe !

Naughty Dexter! Great photo of him.

Sorry to hear you are suffering with post radiotherapy skin problems. Hope it will soon ease.  As Grogg said, I used lots of Aloe Vera, several times a day, whenever it started to feel uncomfortable.  I was also advised to keep well hydrated, so tried to remember to drink water throughout the day.

How is the chemo going?  I’ve lost count of how many cycles you have had but you must be ticking them off.

Difficult week last week, as I just kept randomly bursting into tears. Unusual for me.  Think it was a build up of lots of different things.  Emotional after son’s wedding, and having to make an effort to look fit and healthy and deal with ex husband. Plus grief after the loss of my brother.  And uncertainty about what is going on in my lung, and whether I should ask to transfer my treatment locally or not.  Difficult to know whether they would continue like for like, or budget of new authority might restrict treatment plan.  I know the immunotherapy drugs are hugely expensive, so I’m fortunate to be offered them.

Had the ct scan on the lung today, so now a wait for the results.  Took positive action last week and went to Maggies in Oxford.  Got through the door and burst in to tears!  They were lovely, and said they were used to it.  Felt a bit better afterwards, knowing there is somewhere I can go to talk things through.  Was hoping to be able to talk to a breast nurse about the logistics of getting transferred but officious administrators wouldn’t let me in or ask anyone to talk to me.

Unpleasant drive up to scan today due to the murky wet weather and queues of traffic near service stations where people were queueing for fuel. Took me 40 minutes at Services just to be able to get to the loo.  Think it will be back on the train again to avoid all that!

    Have a good evening everyone.

    Judith

  •   thanks for the thoughts. Yes drinking lots in the day. Cream a few times a day plus aloe Vera on the underneath. Was at chemist today getting a flu jab so picked his brains. On his suggestion I got some barrier cream, fragrance free and anti bacterial. Ill try anything pure just to keep going. Oh and more painkillers they just take the edge off. Just plodding on x

  • Thanks for thinking of me seetpea, you’ve had a very emotional week as would I with all you’re dealing with, weddings can stir up all kinds of memories and hidden emotions. And seeing the ex never ever bloody helps! 5th round tomorrow, steroid buzz tonight. My daughter got vaccinated today and seems to have coped well with it so far, I’ll still home school her until it’s had time to take effect. Hope you’re feeling better for the cry xx

Glad your brother in law is home and hope he’s doing ok Northerner. I’m sorry you’re still uncomfortable Tired Minion and I know what you mean about plodding along. I feel like that too, I think it’s part and parcel of the nature of the treatment. I did have a lovely cream tea with my daughter on Sunday at the Lanesborough as an early 50th, I’ll see if I can add a picture x

  • Happy 50th . Beautiful photos.

is your barrier cream nappy cream.  I was desperate one night and my daughter had tub of sudacrem in bathroom for spot outbreaks and I put it on.  The relief was brilliant but I still had week of RT to go and told not to use during treatment.  Didn't do any harm though.
