Lol. Don't think I could do that Northerner !!
Feeling a LITTLE bit better today... like flu rather than bad flu with a chest infection:) Aiming at making a lentil and veg soup for lunch, but I'll chop the vegetables whilst sitting, and get take away for dinner as I've stil no real appetite (thank God for Deliveroo!!)
Have a lovely day....2 weeks to Christmas!!! Xxx
So glad to hear you’re feeling a bit better!

Londonmumof2 hopefully now on the way to recovery my sister 60 and niece 26 both managed to stay at home when they had but didn't have your underlying health issues . After ten days they started to pick up but still needed rest and not overdo things . Take care I'll let you off the warm up
Morning Everyone,
Just a quick message to say the new central heating boiler is utterly fabby with exciting controls and I wanted to stay home yesterday to play with it but had to go to work. The manager had an email asking did any staff want the vaccine...there are 7 slots available at a hospital maybe 40 miles away so the manager has to choose the most vulnerable, so I have put my name down.
We have new tests for covid which we do there and then instead of sending them off. Me and the other nurse read the instructions and did the tests on us and another girl who was returning to work anyway we were all negative. Its like a pregnancy test.
WhatHappened honestly you can't catch covid outside. I have been in rooms with people coughing all over me and didn't catch it.
Thanks for all the praise regarding paying the mortgage off, but I live in East Lancashire and the houses are super cheap. In 1997 I bought a two bedroom terraced house for £10,500 cash and it was a wonderful warm little house. There was a chip shop at the bottom of the street, happy days xxx
Hope Londonmumof2 continues to recover, which I m sure you will, how awful going to that hospital.
Good luck to thank goodness for good nurses who dilute and hug away pain, I aspire to be as perceptive xxxxx
Good, Helen, I’m glad you’re being offered the jab! And about time too, to be honest! Glad you’ve got the swift test too.
I’m a bit concerned about the two cases of reactions to it, and the advice about those with allergies; I’m allergic to a few drugs (in particular Clarithromycin and Penicillin group) so am now a bit concerned as I really want the vaccination! I’ve reacted to the flu jab in the past too, I just hope that when it’s my turn they will have anti-allergy drugs to use if needed!

Himoomy, I am in a similar position to you - had anaphylaxis after taking Voltarol (diclofenac sodium, one of the Non steroidal Anti inflammatory Drugs) some years ago now. I know that it is in big letters on my notes and suspect the same is true for you. Have spoken to my daughter this morning who is a doctor and she thinks that special clinics could well be held for people ("Who are troublesome like you are" -I quote !!) I had already planned to contact GP surgery when the letter / call came through and seek further specific advice on the specific vaccine to be used. Like you I am keen to have the vaccine but would like them to be prepared for a possible reaction. Sending big hugs xxKwissy
