Good morning......
A quiet night....
Hope everyone has a good day too as painkillers start wearing off from ops etc and mid week chemo effects kick in. Also the Covid positive ? How are you today Londonmumof2 ?

I don't have a lot planned. We still have strict rules here for travel and no cafes, bars or restaurants, not even take aways so yesterday I cooked a large pan of steak and kidney and as I have plenty of time, I might make some individual steamed puddings as well as the pies I normally do. We'll see.....energy at the moment might disappear. At least I've finished knitting stripes!.......I'm going to make myself the plainest navy jumper you can imagine next.....100g balls of wool. Few ends!
Take care all.
Love Karen
Morning Fruit Loops,
‘Baby it’s cold outside’ brrrr here this morning, and foggy too.
Hope all of you are warm, safe and (especially Londonmumof2) feeling ok today.
I’ve put on the convector heater that tops up, upstairs. We have gas warm air heating and it’s not very efficient upstairs. But a convector heater keeps it ok, plus an extra layer of clothing too of course!
I plan to cook dinner early (it’s the rest of the ham hock) and have it gently bubbling in the slow cooker. We hope son is coming up to spend a short while walking the dog (it’s allowed!) around the area so we will be able to see them.

Morning everyone
Good morning Fruit Loops, hope you are all staying snug and warm! I’m going from freezing cold to sweating buckets then freezing cold! The joys of Hot Flushes in the winter
Londonmumof2 hope you aren’t feeling too rough and you are being looked after well. Sending Hugs your way xx
Northerner Thank you for the information on Cazzy’s funeral. It will be nice to think of her at that time God Bless Her xx
moomy Ham hock sounds delicious! It always reminds me of the Dr Seuss Book Green Eggs and Ham! One of the children’s favourite books when I was nannying! Enjoy! Hope you get to meet up with your son, that’s how we’ve been staying in touch with my sister, by walking the dogs together! Xx
seaspirit44 glad you are seeing things clearer now, but don’t over do it and keep up with pain meds if you need them xx
Love to ALL the Fruit Loops.
Right, time to get on with the day! Have a good one everyone OR at least the best possible! Xx
WHOOPS! Nearly forgot......

I know you all like me to keep you on track
and just in case that’s not clear enough......

That’s right.....

Not long to go! Sal xxxxx
Morning all,
I think chemo is good practice for Covid! Feels similar apart from the cough, I'm taking my temperature, taking vitamin D, antihistamines, manuka honey, echinacea and the antibiotic the doctor ordered. I discovered original Nytol has an antihistamine currently being researched against covid, but can't get it as 'pharmacy only'. and all three of us are at various stages of quarantine having tested positive! Michela could try tomorrow (day 11) but might be ID'd and she's 17. I'm sure it would be too late to make much difference then as well as I'd be day 7 of symptoms.
I'm a bit less scared today as my oxygen is 96 - 97 this morning. I have kidney pain and a bit of a cough and very runny nose. In a dizzy, achey and tired and have lost elements of smell and taste: I can smell most things still, and taste everything, but certain things like yogourt and chicken taste bitter!
Moomy, my aunt used to cook ham hock at Christmas. She also cooked traditional meats which are rare now like tongue. I remember seeing a giant rolled cow tongue in the pan and resolving never to eat it!
Seaspirit44 I hope that you are feeling better today,:)
Londonlass Who needs warm clothes when you have an internal boiler!
Off back to bed for a bit..... it's cold and rainy outside in North London and hubbie (also day 6 but only tired and off his food) and Michela (day 10, headache gone but heart beats fast when she moves a lot) are still in bed.
Have a good Sunday and wish me luck on day 6! Xx
Good to have an update, hope things continue well, Londonmumof2, take care of yourself.....could a neighbour get the Nytol for you and drop it at your door? We've got a network here which will do things like that?
Yes, LondonLass it will be good to think of Cazzy at the time of her funeral - far too young, gone far too soon. Cancer is soooo wrong!
Ham hock is gently cooking away, a base of tomato soup with a stock cube, onions, carrots and a big mushroom, a tin of baby potatoes finishes it all off....

Lovely to hear your update Londonmumof2sorry you are poorly.
It’s so bitterly cold That I didn’t go to Church this morning.I was offered a lift but we are not allowed to share cars, and I think I have upset my friend who thinks we can and she was wanting to take and see me.The hardest thing is when your friends and family feel offended but haven’t really read all the rules,I think. Also, staying home alone.
I will have to make it up to her.Meanwhile am snuggled round my hottie.
Hooe all can get warm xxx
