Hi I read your posting and identified with you. I have suffered from anxiety and depression for many years and am alone - yes the endless hours eh. I try looking out of the window and looking at nature - sounds a really simple thing to do - but the colours, the twigs, the leaves, the sounds - we are at one with nature in a way I never really appreciated before. We all blossom and flourish and we all die - it's knowing we are alive in the moment which matters. Live every moment just by being eh - I talk a lot of tosh I suppose  - Take care and know you are not alone in this world  Duffy

  • Blooming heck how the hell do you remember names!  I'm good just been a bit distracted with my daughter new house and sourcing kitchen , flooring etc as she's working full time and I'm retired I get sent to get samples etc!!   I try to keep up to date with awake thread but the faff to scroll back etc frustrates me and then I type a reply and nothing happens - just refuses to post.  Happens mainly on iPad and text so small on my iPhone I usually give up posting as too many typos .

How are you all finding lockdown in England ?  In Wales we can now go shopping but I've only been to supermarket and DIY type shops .  Large queues in town for Primark & Greggs but not tempted !

Oh good news my niece had baby girl Saturday.  Bad news she's still in hospital due to difficult birth and no one including her husband allowed to visit so she's quite alone there .  She's my late sister's daughter and not having your mum at this time is hard.    Hoping to escape today after blood transfusion.

Hope everyone is doing ok xx

  • Just read about how a few of you and your children /friends struggling with mental health.   I think this is the worse impact of repeated lockdown and restrictions.  When we lockdown again in Wales I struggled and it wasn't loneliness as 4 of us in house it was lack of personal space.  I feel bad saying that as one of my friends lives alone and he found it horrendous.

@puzzler - you can see people as you live alone.  From March I've seen a family member who lives alone.  It was garden visits when weather nice then just a chat on doorstep but one of his children bubbled with him so he saw them too .  We have community champions who are helping those alone and vulnerable and we can volunteer to ring them, get shopping etc.  We can now meet in a cafe but not in homes which I think stupid .  There are people using common sense to break rules m just say you are doing as care as MH is an issue.  please reach out for company.  I would visit if I was near as I see few people so feel I've limited exposure so low risk when I visit those who need it .

Sorry to hear you're back in hospital. You've had such a lot to deal with lately. I hope the docs can get on top of the issues & you can go home soon. Sending hugs & best wishes. Xx

    Thanks for asking about me,

I've had only one Hotel NHS stay lately, and only for a few days, so I count that as a victory. Chemo is tough this time - I'm very weak, & have had a number of falls, but no damage other than bruises & scrapes. I'm not strong enough to pick myself up after a fall, so I have to make sure I have my phone on me at all times so I can get help. I have a scan next week, so we'll see then whether the treatment is working.
