Hi Margaret,Northerner,
we’ve booked a site (ALL the site) for the whole family, 3 vans, one tent, near Church Stretton for the end of August to celebrate our anniversary. Till then I suspect we won’t be going far at all. It will be days out.

Hi Northerner
You have brought back happy memories for me today. Church Stretton is one of my favourite places. The Long Mynd is so beautiful, I'm sure you and you family will have a wonderful time there. Last time we were there we stayed at a little village called Richards Castle.
In Church Stretton there is a lovely little restaurant (at the end of a small passage between two houses) which I think was originally a Georgian Tea House. The food is good too.

Hi
think you meant to tag someone else with this post about Church Stretton

Hi ,
it’s me who is going there, it will actually be Acton Scott we are renting the field and hall for a long weekend. I hope we will manage hubs’ wheelchair between us all, I guess by then he can have someone else other than me help to push, if his powered wheels still aren’t back. (One went faulty in early March and ended up being sent back to Holland to the manufacturers - just out of warranty of course, so as yet we’ve no way of getting any info. One helpful chap, back at work locally this week, is going to phone to find out what’s happening for us)

Sorry moomy
A senior moment I'm afraid. I don't know Acton Scott. My husband is from Shropshire. We are a second marriage and what is funny is that both him and his ex and me and my ex always said that we would retire to Church Stretton. But granddaughter made me choose Devon.
You're staying just out of Church Stretton and Richards Castle is just out of Ludlow - another lovely place to visit.
I hope you can sort wheelchair problem soon.
Returning hugs xx
Hi , Acton Scott became known for the series ‘Victorian Farm’ on TV, if you’re into living history you might have seen it, a trio of presenters living as they would have done then. The farm is well known for being historically accurate and is a visitor attraction (not sure how open it will be). I’m not sure if the field and hall are on the farm estate or not, but I guess probably so. Daughter has stayed there before and really enjoyed it.
it’s years since we visited that area but I know how beautiful it is. I think the last time was when my brother was over in the UK (he lives in Texas) and he drove us up a long, hilly, windy road with a sheer drop down the side; his driving could have been better, and his wife was letting him know it, we were sitting in the back terrified! But the views were lovely.
