Don’t know if anyone else is out there ? My head won’t stop to let me sleep. I should be relaxed and chilled as I got news on Thursday that I am now cancer free and win’t be needing chemo or radiotherapy ...should be jubilant, right ? Should be sleeping like a baby now, right ? If so, then why aren’t I asleep now ?? This damned illness really plays with my mind, even when I don’t have it any more !!
You still awake, ? Congratulations on being cancer free.
Maybe you're awake because, like many of us, you had wound yourself up in preparation for bad news, and all that tension takes a while to wear off. It's quite common on here for people to have a feeling of anticlimax after the initial relief. We're fruit loops, we're allowed to be odd!
I'm currently enjoying the delights of Hotel NHS. I was woken by a loud beeping sound and somebody whispering at my side. Turns out I had rolled on to my i/v line and blocked it, setting off the alarm, and a couple of nurses were trying te release it before I woke up the entire ward!
Going to try sleep again.
Morning all.......
hope it’s a nice relaxing day for all, WITHOUT too much chocolate eating!!
don’t be too hard on yourself. It takes time to accept and believe that you have had good news! I’m sure like most of us, you had prepared yourself for bad news! It then takes time to accept that the news was in fact positive! Sorry no one was awake to chat with you in the early hours, it was a rare occasion when people seemed to sleep! Although annoyingly I was awake at 3am but couldn’t face switching my iPad on! Sorry xx
sorry to hear you are in Hotel NHS, I hope it is a brief visit! In fact I’m sure the other patients are hoping it is too! It’s hard enough sleeping in hospital without someone setting off alarms
and are soon home and in your own bed! (((((((((BIG HUGS)))))))) xxxxx
Sending Lots of Love and Hugs to all the Fruit Loops. Sal xxxxx
Hi ,
hope you escape very soon, you just can’t get any decent rest in hotel NHS!

Hi ,
snap! I found the very same, didn’t need either chemo or rads and although I was pleased and relieved it still had me worried and anxious, still does now and then and causes problems with sleep, but less often than it did.
Hope you find a way of dealing with it, for me it’s a type of mindfulness, introduced by yoga (but I couldn’t return to yoga till 3 months after my Mx)

Snowys Mum !!
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
Most of you lovely fruit loops know that I've been getting excited about our trip down under next week. I an beginning to get the feeling that somebody "up there" isn't keen on us going. A rew weekago a volcano erupted off north island, there's been bush fires in OZ and today Dubai airport flooded!!!!
Goodness me, , are you still going?
night night fruit loops, fairy sleepy dust is ready for you all, sleep well
hugs xxx
