Twinkle51 as promised I have tagged you! Hopefully you'll find us!!
Over here! This way!! Can you see us?!!
Here we are, coooo ieeeeee!!!! OVER HERE!!!
Hope everyone is having a lovely day! Sending lots of Get Well Wishes to and hope you are both out of Hotel NHS soon!! If you need an escape route let us know!! I'm sure the Fruit Loops can get you out
Although joking aside, you are clearly both where you need to be! Sorry if it's boring and the foods not great but fingers crossed you'll both get home soon. Love to all. Sal xxxxxx
Galligirl, VERY pleased to hear you are having a great time and also pleased to hear you aren't being affected by the Bush fires there!! Such an awful thing and sending my love and best wishes to everyone who is being or has been affected by these awful fires! Thinking of you and all the firefighters and hoping and praying things settle soon! Xxxx
Sorry, messed up my typing! I managed to delete all my message and send nothing...
This is what I meant to write:
Galligirl glad you are having a good time but do stay safe from the fires!
I forgot you were stuck in Hotel NHS too. I hope you are doing okay and feeling a little bit better!
LondonLass I am having a few more days to enjoy the ambience and the food, but if I need LP or fruit loops to rescue me I'll send up some smoke signals. Turns out the UTI is a kidney infection, not just cystitis, so they are saying 3 days. And also muttering about putting a picc line or port in before next chemo since my veins are giving up! If anyone has advice on which is the better option I'd be interested to hear it. Preferably the one which is going to make it easiest to cart around squirming 2 year olds...!
Hi ,
Personally I’ve not had any need for a central line but have seen both Hickman and port, daughter had a Hickman for both her SCT’s, a blind friend had a port. I would think that with two year olds a port would definitely be the better bet for you.
Glad they are keeping you till they are sure a kidney infection has been clobbered, no joke, that; no wonder you ‘leaked’ bless you!
However, should you need a tunnel digging after that then let the Awake posse know! Sending hugs and hope that your Hotel NHS has a decent catering department! Could you ask if you’re allowed to go to their restaurant as sometimes that’s a bit better?
Hugs xxx

moomy Cheeboe thank you for the advice - it's good to know because I have zero knowledge about this at all and was really hoping that I could get by without, but my "excellent veins" have obviously taken a bit of a battering over the last few months!
Thanks also for the restaurant advice...I will definitely ask! I'm in trouble today because I got up to go to the loo this afternoon and had a dizzy spell and got told by the nurse in no uncertain terms that I should have asked for help (I just didn't want to bother anyone!) but hopefully I'll be allowed a bit more freedom tomorrow ;)
Oh boy, dizzy spells, yes; I felt VERY wobbly post anaesthetic and was annoyed with the night staff who insisted following my second mx op (I bled, and had the whole op repeated 30 hours later) that I had to get up to walk to the loo as I wasn’t allowed the blood thinning jab (didn’t feel I needed the first, to be honest but I bet it added to the bleed problem!) I was worried as I felt very wobbly. Also when I was discharged and had a long walk through the corridors to the outside and the car.
Take it easy!!!!
