seeing oncologist tomorrow it always terrifies me , I thought it would get easier , but I seem to be getting worse ! She told me in the beginning that capecitabine won’t work long , so I am always expecting bad news , silly really

my family flew home today to Australia where they are going to be cooler than here !

Best wishes for sleep and stable results for all fruit loops ......

    Hi

That is interesting that your Oncologist said that Capecitabine doesn’t work for long. What did she tell you that for? Not a very encouraging statement to make I feel. How did it make you feel? Did you question her saying that?

I have been on Capecitabine tablets since my secondary bc diagnosis Jan 2018. So I sincerely hope it’s not a short term solution. My main side effect is chemo fatigue which builds up towards the end of the second week & leaves me feeling wiped out.

Then I get a seven day break between cycles and start to feel better on day 2.

Heat here ( Brighton) is far too much for me.

Hello fellow fruit loops and everyone is well . Saw my lovely surgeon this morning about the minor issue with my implant . She's of the opinion that it's either cording or scar tissue . Had ultrasound and that's clear so will see her in a few weeks to talk about options, so back to the bio oil

    Hi Karen

I went through the menopause naturally also at 52yrs.

To be honest,  I was dreading it as had really unpleasant PMS every month for years. I had fluid retention, sore eyes, felt as though my brain was being pressurised, bloating, depression, sensitive gums... I had 8 days out of each month when I felt ok and then it would build up again.

I tried: homeopathy, Bach Flower remedies, Herbal medicine, changing my diet / giving up coffee. ( I already did loads of exercise), Effamol /Evening Primrose oil ( on Prescription). One GP even suggested the pill, but I refused this.

Acupuncture did help me feel less depressed, it helped my circulation too as I had been prone to cold hands in past.

It did occur to me that I might have been deficient in Magnesium or Potassium ( I also took vit/min supplements) but never thought to get my blood tested.

My mum had had fibroids and a radical hysterectomy in her 40’s. She never suffered from PMS or hot flushes.

Interestingly a Consultant looking at a scan pointed out to me that I had had fibroids too, which I was unaware of. I wonder if having this condition could have been related to PMS.?

I also tried anti depressants and some of these were useful too.  A few years back I read a book by Dr Miriam Stoppard which indicated if you had bad PMS then you were likely to have a difficult menopause!.... This filled me with absolute dread.

When I reached 52, the periods simply petered out and .... nothing, not a single hot flush(?). I saw this result as a blessing for all the years 10-52 of PMS.

I must be in the minority who don’t have hot flushes and for that I’m very grateful.
