  • Thank you so much for your kind messages, what a lovely thing to come home too. All done it was much better than I had imagined, although the anaesthetic is only just wearing off so I won't talk too soon!

The worse part was the anaesthetic going in, boy did that bring a tear to my eyes! But the staff were lovely, really lovely and within 20mins I was out! Just a bit of tugging.........

Then it was all over! Fingers crossed things heal up okay. Then it's just the other side to do!

May as well be totally honest with you all. I did have a bit of a meltdown prior to going to my appointment. I was angry, really angry because this dental extraction was only being done, for when I start the Denosumab, I say when and not if because I know at some point I will need it! So yet again I am having treatment for something that is in some way Cancer related! So frustrating and hard to get your head around! But I'm sure a lot of those feelings were because I was so scared of having it done. Thinking about it now I can see, that at some point in the future when I need that drug I will be glad that this is already done and out of the way!

Anyway enough babble, time for a nap I think! Thanks again for being such a lovely supportive bunch! Sal xxxxxxx

  • Aliasdj......How did you get on? (((((((((BIG HUGS)))))))) xxxx

  • Well done London Lass glad it went well and your ok that is always the main thing xxxxxx

  • Oh noooo! Guess who is back in hospital with sepsis! They have caught it in time, but it was attacking kidneys and heart, so have to stay in. No wonder I felt so bloody ill!

None of us wanted to be in this group, but we are glad we're not alone.

Diagnosis 2/8/17 IDC Her2+, 22mm, with spread to several lymph nodes. TCHP chemo started 23/8/17, Mx with immediate, temp recon 24/1/18, rads 20/3 to 10/4/18, Herceptin by IV until Nov 18. RR Mx Jan 23. Still waiting for reconstruction, but opting for simple implants, as opposed to Diep, due to long waiting lists for diep.

  • Hi Jo, sorry to hear you are in hospital. I hope you didn't wait too long before going in! I have sent in a couple of nurses to help with your care.....I'm pretty sure they are qualified.....

    GET WELL SOON HUN. Xxxxxx

  • Thanks Sal, I feel fine now that they have me here! Temp is finally going down! I didn't wait at all. I just knew it wasn't normal chemo sickness and when I started shivering and temp was creeping up I called Onc unit. They told me to come straight in and within 15 mins I was there. Temp was 38.2 but went almost to 40 in the few hours before they managed to control it. When IV paracetamol wasn't working it was a bit frightening. All sorted now though, but they think it will affect my chemo, which is a bit of a blow. Xx

Oh goodness Jo, you're really being put through it! Hope you feel better soon, no wonder you felt poorly, did you have a temperature?

    Love Shey xxxx

  • Yes, but it just crept up slowly over a couple of hours. When it got to 37.9 and I started feeling freezing and shivering, I knew it was going to go higher. I got here just before midday, but it kept going up until about 2 hours ago, which was a bit frightening. You just assume the hospital will be able to solve everything straight away, but they just couldn't stop it going up. They had me stripped and the fans on! I was freezing, lol. Xx

Oh no Jo Jo! - glad you're on the mend anyway, what a scary experience! Glad it's under control now though! I sat with a woman during my chemo who had also had it so her chemo regime had been adjusted and she is doing fine - it didn't happen again after.

Sending love and hugs for a speedy recovery,

  • Hi Jo, well done for seeking help early!

NOW YOUNG LADY, I have a bone to pick with you! How DARE YOU come on here COMPLAINING about being stripped off and surrounded by fans and then go on to boast about being FREEZING!! How SELFISH could you be. Do you know how many of us HOT FLASH ladies dream of nights like that......in fact some of us spend most nights like that.....and we definitely don't complain! Most of our bedrooms look like this.........

HaHaHaHa sorry Jo I couldn't resist! It just made me laugh when you commented about being freezing, especially on this thread where most of us spend half our nights and days cooking!!

Take care Hun, I'm sure once the antibiotics do  their thing you will be out before you know it.
