Lacomtekp what a lovely post!
@Mag123…I know what it must be like…I am a little like that.
I also have a neice who is autistic, and I find it hard to sleep if I think about the awfulness of her meltdowns. They close all windows etc when she is screaming.I said “Oh that is so hard for you”but my twin said ,”It’s hard for her!”…which of course is the correct way of looking at it.
I watched the first Chris Packham show with an autistic young man who found a way to express what was inside and it was wonderful.
All the things he wanted to say came out.
Best show I have watched in a long time, and helped me understand xx
After Tai Chi Saturday we had a belated Chinese Mew Year celebration. Fun tossing the food in the air with chopsticks. Then yesterday we went to Dunham Massey deer park for a picnic. Not been for some time, so it was lovely to be back. Snowdrops, little irises, hellebores, cyclamen and camellia all flowering. The place was heaving though. Apparently they had to close the Carpark last weekend as there were so many visitors.! We did not get a cuppa on the cafe as the queue was so long. Will go midweek on future! Xxx
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
seaspirit44 I went last year on a coach trip to Dunham Massey it was lovely. That would have been midweek.
Mag123 you're not the only one still working if that helps at all. I had to do yesterday extra as the dep manager was struck down with a virus. Im like a bedraggled duck in a thunderstorm by the time the 12 hours is done.
In other news, do you all remember me moaning about Mr Grass grassing me up for a minor paperwork error which effected nobody whatsoever? Well he has given me 2 budgies, his Mum couldn't cope with them anymore. They came on Friday and I'm.just getting to grips with the feeding requirements etc.
I have changed their names to Peachy and Kiwi.

Owww how lovely Snowys Mom - it seems you now have full control over Mr. Grass hahaha
The budgies are beautiful - one tip ..... you have to 'blow' the husks off the food otherwise they won't eat.... don't ask me why I just know from a late Uncle he left is son to look after his whilst he was away or in hospital..... son didn't think budgies were eating that much (think they eat the top layer and leave the husk) - the husk covers the food and the budgies don't eat
Now then, when my mom and dad were teenagers and had their first home together they kept budgies.... budgerigars .... such a lovely name .... anyway mom and dad kept budgies and enjoyed them. .....
Well, as most of you know my story with my dear mom and her loneliness (and age 90+) I have wondered a few times if a budgie would be suitable for mom to have for company or would they/he take too much looking after. Mom loves all animals - however with her age a dog would need too much looking after, a cat.... would more than likely trip her up - just not sure how much company you get from a budgie..... a cat you can cuddle ....
I'm interested in anyones thoughts - or back to any suggestions for hobbies for someone that isn't the brightest button in the draw .... mom can knit, gets board with jigsaws ... I just don't know...
Trying to catch up with all the posts - in the meantime sending love and hugs to all xxxx
Awwww Snowys Mum they are gorgeous, I remember having budgies as a child, we also had an aviary in the garden for all sorts of other birds.
Having one of those days today when I don’t feel right but can’t pin point why. Possibly apprehension for a CT scan tomorrow, this will hopefully tell the medical team if my treatment regime is having any effect??
Hope anyone else waiting on tests or results doesn’t have to wait too long.
Huge hugs to all xx
Ow I just love those budgies. How great!!
I feel for you having to do 12 hour shifts. I don't think I could do that regularly Snowy's mum.
Seaspirit44 I love Dunham Massey. Let me know if you ever fancy meeting there on a Friday.
