Hope you are all doing well.
My question is can we fly with mets to the brain - have any of you?
My oncologist said its fine but I don't have much faith in her.
My son is in Thailand, I have a terminal diagnosis but I'm at the moment and desperate to go and see him.
Thank you for any replies x
Hi Victoriab73
I can't help with your question but noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' your post back to the top of the discussion list.
It must be very hard for you not having faith in the doctor who is treating you. Do you have a cancer nurse specialist (CNS), sometimes referred to as a key worker or Macmillan nurse, as they also have access to your medical records so would be able to confirm if it's safe for you to fly or not.
If you can't fly out to Thailand to see your son, maybe you could use the money you would have spent on the fare to pay for him to fly home to see you.
xx
Aww thank you for your reply.
I don't have a dedicated support worker - how do I go about that with Macmillan?
Thanks for your help x
The 'support worker' is sometimes referred to as a Macmillan nurse, if they've been sponsored by Macmillan.
To find out who your cancer nurse specialist is, you just need to phone your consultant's secretary and she should be able to give you the contact details.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
