Brain Tumours

Hi I am new to this.  I was diagnosed with 9 brain tumours in February 2021 - after having skin cancer and surgery in 2017 the cancer travelled up to my brain, melanoma stage IV.  I had one tumour surgically removed then went to London for Gamma Knife treatment then I started immunotherapy but after 10 months of spending more time in Hospital than at home due to contracting Colitis 5 times & Meningitis  I am now off treatment and being monitored with MRI & CT scans every 3 months, so long as the 8 tumours don’t grow I can carry on without further treatment.  It does worry me as it’s treatable but not curable but I try & wake up every day with a positive attitude.  LAHM

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm not a member of this group but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. As you know, the online community is divided up into different support groups so I thought I'd suggest that you also join the melanoma group, where you'll find others whose melanoma has spread. There is also a secondary brain cancer group here.

If you'd like to join either or both of these groups, just click on the links I've created which will take you straight them. You can then join and start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on reply.

It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
