Fit test score 28 .

Hello everyone, is a score of 28 high ? I have had a little bit of a problem with finding Bright red blood in my stool just a little bit very sparse .
I did a fit test on a stool that I had straining with and it had a little blood on it would this effect the score ? . Does a fit test pick up visible blood has well has occult blood ?
I am having a colonoscopy next week .

Hi all does a higher score mean higher chance of cancer or no? Mines come back as 283 so I’m freaking out a bit

Hi June33 It means that they have found that amount of blood in your stool and further investigation is needed. It could be caused by piles, IBD, colitis but needs to be checked out. Only 1 in 10 colonoscopies results in a bowel cancer diagnosis and you should hopefully get an appointment through for one within the next 2 weeks.

Hi Webster It’s the measure of blood in your stool and further investigation will be required. You’ll probably be booked for a colonoscopy - only 1 in 10 results in a bowel cancer diagnosis as it could be something like colitis, diverticulitis, piles, crohns - the important thing is to get checked out.

I recently got my qFIT results which got 41g hb/g . And was refer to colonoscopy and endoscopy. This is something I'm frightened about. I feel that everything pointing out towards cancer .

Hi Samy9 Do you have any other symptoms that makes you say everything is pointing towards cancer? A reading of 41 means that there is some blood in the stool but this could be caused by piles, colitis, crohns, diverticulitis?

Only 1 in 10 colonoscopies results in a bowel cancer diagnosis but its still important to get checked out? Try not to panic and focus on the facts not the what’s ifs and please come back and let us know how you get on?

Thanks for your response. I have got bloating. And my stomach is making alot of noise. Not I haven't found any blood or anything from my back passage. I have never been through any scan but now I need to undergo two of them which making feeling tense to the core.
