Hi everyone.
So my dad has been having severe abdominal pain for over 6 weeks now, he’s had a stool sample looked at and at first they thought it was a infection and gave him antibiotics. He had to do another sample to rule everything out but they found something, today he had his colonoscopy and there was a blockage in the way so they couldn’t go ahead with it, as he needs to take more medicine to make him go to the toilet. Me my mum and sister are feeling exhausted with worry we just want answers to know what this could be. We’re all thinking bowel cancer, it’s making us sick with worry and I feel like I can’t get on with normal life until we know. He’s been booked in for another appointment ASAP but with covid it’s more of a worry as appointments are being cancelled.
me and my sister are 24 and our dad is 72 he is older and he’s just not himself he’s weak he’s lost weight and he’s so worried we all are. I needed to vent so I joined this page and if it is cancer hopefully I can get some support with this journey :(
Hi
My neighbour has the same issues when he has a colonoscopy. He has several for another reason but it happens every time . He has to go back and repeat and it’s never actually cancer .
If you feel he is experiencing other symptoms it’s best to get to the bottom of it but bowel cancer caught early is very treatable. If it turns out to be the case we would be more than happy to support you all thought it .
Take care ,
